Conor McGregor In David August – Floyd Mayweather Jr. v Conor McGregor World Press Tour

Posted by Catherine Kallon

The press conference for the Floyd Mayweather Jr. v Conor McGregor boxing match, held at the Staples Center on Tuesday (July 11), was always going to be a spicy affair with the usual trash talking, but Conor McGregor decided to take things further.

His custom made three-piece pinstripe David August suit gives off the impression of a dapper gent, but the woven navy wool fabric has a repeat pattern of the words ‘F**K YOU’ (see the close up here) creating an optical illusion of traditional pinstripes from afar.

Paired with custom crisp white shirt, pink tie and silk polka dot navy pocket square, the Irish mixed martial artist even stopped the press conference having seen himself on the big screen to say, “How’s this suit look? It’s a cracker”.

CEO David August Heil said, “Conor has been a longtime client and friend of ours and we’re deeply honored to be a part of this epic, historic story as it unfolds. With a force in sports and fashion like Conor, it makes our job exciting to create unique looks that enhances his natural confidence and power. He’s a disrupter in everything he does and we’re intoxicated by his passion and drive.”

I’ve always thought that real men wear pink. He has an interesting style and gosh… he’s handsome!

Could live w/o the ‘hidden messages’, but wow, he looks really sharp and dapper. Impeccable fit/cut and inspired styling down to the shoes and the pocket square.

I think he looks pretty darn terrific in that suit! Love the pink!!!
I have to admit I kinda like the pinstripe. for the occasion. Made me laugh anyway.

hes a racist and quite a negative person.

his success affords him the access to designer stuff, but i’d rather we not celebrate him in any way. especially in the world of fashion- where diversity of all types is lacking – let’s not make room for him.

The quote from David August Heil is the funniest thing I have read in a long time — “epic historic story,” “force in fashion,” “intoxicated by his passion and his drive.” Wow, what a load of BS — maybe I’ll get a dress made that says that in a floral print.
I am always amazed by commitment that some people have to look: first, decide to turn a pinstripe into a way to say F and then find a person to weave the fabric and design the suit. Along the way, did anyone say, wow that a horrible idea and in the face of opposition, Conor held firm to his vision. Anyway, despite the ridiculous pinstripe, the suit looks good.
