Priyanka Chopra In Ralph Lauren Collection – 2017 Met Gala

Priyanka Chopra also showed the sculptural power of tailoring at the 2017 Met Gala on Monday (May 1) in New York City.

Combining the best of both worlds—outerwear and evening wear—the ‘Quantico’ actress swept onto the scene in a Ralph Lauren Collection trench coat gown.

An otherworldly, sci-fi influence came by way of her galactic silver earrings and metallic makeup, selected no doubt to up the glam, avant-garde factor—especially against the heavier punk finish of the black platform booties.

But, ultimately, it was the architectural collar and the impossibly long train that sold the look to me—plus Priyanka’s power stance.

Loving the collar and train but not the boots, I’d have preferred sleeker boots (if that even exists) although I understand there’s a point to these particular boots with the whole look.

I was actually SLAYED by this.

Her attitude is everything. She is selling this look to me.

I like this idea but the styling is making this look cheap.

Total camp. It looks like it was styled by Nicole Scherzinger, head-to-toe.

SLAY Queen SLAY!! This look is giving me major Baywatch baddie vibes which pays tribute to Priyanka’s role in the upcoming movie!! Head to toe PERFECTION, all hail Priyanka Chopra!! Straight goes to my BDOTW contender, and who can make a trench coat look so badass? Only Priyanka Chopra can get away with it and pull it off with much aplomb!!

To be completely honest, I don’t understand this look.

Ralph Lauren took his iconic trench to a whole other level. This a big fashion moment for him and for Chopra. I love love love this major look. H2T perfect for the occasion.

    Well… it’s definitely memorable.

Stole the show. Her confidence is sexy. Definitely best dressed at this year’s Met.

Priyanka knew she had to go big or stay home. Another big public moment for her to be recognized even more as the international star she already is. Her stylists brought their A-game. She brought this dress to life.

This was the look that stood out for me this year! Priyanka has to be one of Christina’s riskiest clients. Ralph Lauren so daring as well! Everything paid off!

I am pleasantly surprised, because Priyanka’s stylist is Christina Ehrlich, the most conservative stylist in the business, who put Alison Williams in that snoozy DVF and Lena Dunham in Elizabeth Kennedy, a designer for WOMEN IN THEIR 50s & 60s….

Priyanka clearly dominated the fashion decision for this event, demanding something actually different. Great. Some stylists need to be pushed. Love this.

A puddle of beige does not a Met look make.

Can’t help but compare that sad spillage of a train to Rihanna’s 2015 masterpiece and cry.

Priyanka looks stunningly beautiful, and I love that the collar and train turn a Ralph Lauren staple into a Met gown. A hit for me.

Haha no no no this is too silly!!

She is trying to look cool and she does look good, but ultimately it looks like a trench coat, we’ve seen many times before, which was made extra long to make it look more dramatic for the gala. The unexciting color and standard outerwear booties aren’t helping. I’d expect to see something more creatively couture-ish for the occasion.

I subscribe this word by word.

I totallt agree, you just stole my words LOL.

A long train does not mean = fitting the theme. This is a trench coat. At best, a gown. At worst, a just a trench coat.

Now if this was a London Fog theme, then YES. Since it’s not, then NO.

Love her confidence, but that’s it………………………….

  23. Pheephee May 2, 2017 at 1:06 am #

Dull color. She looks like shes going on a fancy safari….
Also looks about 2 sizes too large for her, and she just gets lost in it. Its a no for me.

I really want to love this but I can’t, I think i would have preferred this if the coat had some embroidery on it, or faded from khaki to white or something. Also, I think the hairstyle could have been more unique

At first glance I was not a fan but after a second look I believe I love this! It’s cool and funky and memorable! Love!
