April 3, 2017 Runway To Red Carpet

Hillary Scott In Proenza Schouler – 2017 ACM Awards

There are very few things in fashion that surprise us these days, but I was surprised to see Proenza Schouler on the red carpet at the 2017 Academy Of Country Music Awards, which took place on Sunday (April 2) in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Country music events were once known for their big gowns and bigger hair, but Hillary Scott continues to dispel that notion wearing a Proenza Schouler dress wrapped and wound around the figure with skin-baring panels, that combine to create a dynamic silhouette.

I love the further splash of colour with emerald David Webb statement earrings and green Kurt Geiger ‘Jina’ iridescent sandals.

I think this might be one of my favourite Hillary look to date.

You are absolutely right; Selena Gomez wore a similar dress and the success wasn’t wild but it looked much better on her frame

Nice color and print.I would have preferred it without the belly cutout.

The cut-outs trend is right there with the sheer trend and they both need go away.

This would look better if there weren’t any cut-outs.

Maybe if she had stood up straight (Nicole could give her posture lessons!)
    Love the shoes though

Shame her hunched posture is so bad, I can’t see anything else.

That’s an oddly/badly designed dress. Too complicated and unflattering.

Ha ha, getting some taste wouldn’t hurt, they’ll get used to it:)
Artistic expression in dressing should be built off a solid base imo. otherwise it’s just a tackyville parade.

I completely agree, which is why music awards shows in particular can sometimes be more interesting to me than some other red carpet events. Sure, perhaps in a car wreck kind of way, lol, but still. The “bland-ification”, if you will, of more and more red carpets would be sad indeed.

Actually, I liked it more when artists showed up all looking deliciously tacky ( Dolly Parton kind of way…) with boufants and horrid dresses. It was fun.
Now they all look contrived ,trying to be high fashion when they are clearly feeling uncomfortable .

I did not like this on Selena Gomez and I do not like it on Hillary. This dress is not flattering at all.

I’m gonna see if this becomes a trend

  13. Guest May 29, 2019 at 2:39 am #

    Ahhhhh! Don’t scare me! lol

That dress is awful in design and looks so tacky. It does not suit her body type. What a mess.

I agree, she has a lovely figure but that type of waist cut out/tie situation is just not flattering.

  16. Guest May 29, 2019 at 2:39 am #

It’s a tricky cut and it doesn’t work on her frame, unfortunately.
