Sophie Marceau In Alexandre Vauthier Couture - 'Mad Max Fury Road' Cannes Film Festival Premiere

Sophie Marceau attended the ‘Mad Max: Fury Road’ premiere during the 2015 Cannes Film Festival this evening (May 14) in Cannes, France.

The French beauty wore an Alexandre Vauthier Spring 2015 Couture white silk wrap-front shirt dress styled with a snake necklace from Chopard’s Animal World collection.

I want to say this look feels a tad underdressed, but she carries it with such grace and poise I find myself somewhat in awe.

Simple, chic and effortless.. Love it

This is nice but nothing we haven’t seen before

She always looks chic and elegant and poised. I think there is a bit too much fabric around the waist, it could be more fitted. Love the necklace and everything waist up though.

    Elegant, effortless, cool… love it.

Very french elegance in my opinion too. Hair and makeup could’ve been slightly better though.

I dont much like it. It looks like too much fabric and that snake was completely unnecessary.

I don’t like serpent lecklaces, they are awful. That said, I hate this one less. I think it’s okay thanks to the minimalist, somewhat tough, androgynous collar. As for the dress, this really needed to be super-smartly fitted to take out of wrapped bedsheet territory, which is where it’s still squarely located in.

Also, I absolutely did not recognise her.

I like it a lot, she looks effortlessly chic.

Totally lackluster and underwhelming. The gown looks like a sloppy robe, the necklace is more of a last minute addition and her presentation/hair/makeup are too dull and casual. Thumbs down from me.

I love this look. So effortless!

    I love it.

Hmm…the white is hard to wear in this simple style, as it looks kind of like a sheet. I really think the necklace elevates it, though. I would have been truly sold if she had done her hair very sleekly and done a modern/futuristic smoky eye.

As a french actress, representing the french Red Carpet, in my opinion, she IS underdressed, the hair and the make-up fail, I see the necklace and it seems the Snake looks miserable (would not be the case if it would be a Bulgari Serpenti). There´s no glamour here.

to under dressed for my liking

  15. Alina May 14, 2015 at 8:40 pm #

    French elegance.

    • Zineb May 14, 2015 at 8:46 pm #

I wouldn’t say that. She deliberately exposed her panties on the red carpet. You should go check on Getty

      • Laraine May 15, 2015 at 3:50 am #

I’m sorry, what? In this dress? I looked on Getty, not seeing it.

Click on the link I provided above of the picture. I was just as shocked!

The dress is ok, I like the necklace.

+ 1 I think the necklace makes the look

Sophie Marceau took tacky to a whole new level. Such a shame.'actualité/jury-member-sophie-marceau-attends-premiere-of-mad-photo-dactualité/473304360

    • olivia May 14, 2015 at 10:28 pm #

She was walking and the photograph caught her. It is hardly like she was trying to be tacky. You are reaching

She knows what she was up to chosing a dress with a strategically placed thigh high slit and walking with it on the Cannes red carpet. She knew it will happen and yet she went along with it. Not classy

  19. Yeliz May 14, 2015 at 8:35 pm #

    Simple and beautiful.

  20. jhh36 May 14, 2015 at 8:33 pm #

I like this. It’s sort of casual and sort of not and works. Sophie does look cool and poised so it works. Some people it is too casual for Cannes but it has a French relaxed elegance feel.

  21. Marcel May 14, 2015 at 8:31 pm #

It is a very simple yet a very elegant dress. I really like it. Not wowed but thumbs up.

  22. Evita May 14, 2015 at 8:30 pm #

Very effortless, I would have liked this more in another color and maybe with a different hairstyle or had she removed the necklace, although by itself it is gorgeous..Nothing to get excited about but still presentable

  23. Charlotte May 14, 2015 at 8:28 pm #

    I love this dress !
She looks beautiful in it, and I don’t think it’s underdressed at all.

I don’t like the necklace though.
