Katie Holmes In Marchesa – 2015 Golden Globe Awards

Katie Holmes In Marchesa - 2015 Golden Globe Awards

Katie Holmes looked stunning at the 2015 Golden Globe Awards held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel on Sunday (January 11) in Beverly Hills, California.

The actress wore a custom Marchesa aubergine draped strapless gown with a mid-length train.

The swathed prominence around the waist and hips is very flattering, giving Katie more of a womanly figure.

I think that her slicked side part looks ravishing with this outfit combination, but I would have preferred to see her hair pulled up in a bun. The ensemble would have been more complete with a strand of diamonds or tiny studs to brighten up the neckline.

Her smoky, taupe makeup and nude lip are very complementary to the gown’s eggplant hue.

The colour is nice but the dress is just boring and the hair is WAY too long!

I thought I’d love this but on closer inspection it actually comes down to the colour only.

One of the worst of the night for me. Wrinkled, basic dress paired with boring, straight hair. There’s no life in this.

    Boring.

The wrinkles and the fit do pose problems for the look and as people above have said, she should be so easy to dress, she has all that is needed physically. Still not as bad as some of her looks have been in the last year, but could be way better than this. 5/10

She’s tall, beautiful and graceful…she’s a stylists dream! So why can they never get it right?!
The gown looks like a cheap bridesmaid dress and does not belong on a red carpet, let alone the Golden Globes! Such a shame.

Beautiful look on Kate. The colour suits her perfectly. I do mind those wrinkles on the dress, but overall, this is a great look for her.

HAIR! That’s all I see, besides the cheap-looking wrinkled dress of course.

  9. Yeliz January 12, 2015 at 7:08 am #

Poorly made, cheap-looking gown. Her styling doesn’t make anything better.

The colour is good on her, and her makeup is flawless. Everything else is a mess – the hair extensions are terrible, the wrinkled fabric makes the dress cheap and the design doesn’t look anything like a Marchesa creation. It looks like something you might pick up at the mall.

It’s a shame about the creases, because this is a great look for her.

  12. Phoenix January 12, 2015 at 4:37 am #

She always looks unfinished. The color looks good, but something is missing.

I really, really want her to get it right on the red carpet, but she rarely seems to pull it all together. The color’s gorgeous on her, but the fitting, the makeup and the hair are all off to me. And earrings seem like a given here.

The gown is gorgeous for Katie, as is her haircolour, but the beauty ends there.

She needed a gorgeous updo, a berry lip, stunning ruby (of a purplish hue) earrings and one Elizabeth Taylor-worthy ring.

I hope she isn’t wearing black footwear.

She always gets one thing right, and that is it. Only one aspect of a look right. Sigh. But I am rooting for her.

Gold accessories would have worked better. I can never understand how her and Kate Beckinsale get invited to these things.

  16. Amanda January 12, 2015 at 3:43 am #

Ugh kinda rough. The long probably extensions ponytail is terrible and the dress looks like cheap prom. Boring as usual.

  17. m January 12, 2015 at 3:13 am #

underwhelming… the creases on the gown are awful…. she breathes no life into this look…

It’s nice to see Marchesa back with wearable dresses on the red carpet. Even though yesterday’s green dress and this one are similar.

Her make-up is on point, and the colour of the dress looks stunning on her. Shame about the wrinkles in the skirt though.

That pony has got to go….it looks like a horses tail.

Between the ill-fitting bodice, unsightly wrinkles, mismatched cuff/bracelet, the criss crossed detail across her midsection, and horse tail, I’m at a loss for words. I might be in the minority, but this is my first WDOTY. The only thing working here for me is her makeup.

Such a shame that the dress is wrinkle looking. Wished her hair was up

  22. Dea January 12, 2015 at 2:56 am #

Someone give that woman an iron and a haircut.

    • gabis January 12, 2015 at 12:12 pm #

LOL, yes, but I still think she looks great. LOVE the color and her simple styling.

      • CreoleLady January 13, 2015 at 12:15 am #

Lol, but, oh, that luscious color.

  23. Cole January 12, 2015 at 2:56 am #

I wouldn’t mind the ponytail IF she left it behind her instead of draped in front. The hair takes focus away from the dress. This dress does look lovely on her and one of her best looks in recent times.

  24. Alex January 12, 2015 at 2:54 am #

She looks incredible. Love this sleek look.

  25. Sienna January 12, 2015 at 2:52 am #

Very sexy. Love love the color.
