Marion Cotillard In Christian Dior – ‘Time Out Of Mind’ New York Film Festival Premiere

Marion Cotillard In Christian Dior - 'Time Out Of Mind' New York Film Festival Premiere

Marion Cotillard attended the ‘Time Out Of Mind’ premiere held during the 52nd New York Film Festival at Alice Tully Hall on Sunday (October 5) in New York City.

While this Christian Dior Spring 2015 look featuring an embroidered blue velvet cotton coat, an off-white cotton knitted top and black quilted silk bermuda shorts looks like Marion’s about to go yodelling in the Austrian alps with the Von Trapp family, I must admit she brings some charm to the look which is somewhat of a surprise to me as this was my least favourite collection from Raf Simons for Dior so far.

Flawless makeup and Dior pointy pumps rounded out this look.

Are you feeling charmed or repelled by this look?

The bermudas are nothing short of disgusting. That they will cost thousands of dollars because they have a ‘Dior’ label stitched on only makes it worse.

Now seeing the close up I do have to say the buttons on the front aren’t particularly successful and the fit is rather off. However, the look also makes me wonder if this more quirky, tomboyish style would actually suit her much better. I’d like her to experiment a little bit more in that direction.

This is horrid. and laughable. I like nothing here, which is a shame because she is wonderful.

    I really like it!

Nope. Raf Simons is NOT Dior. Gorgeous coat, leave everything else.

I only like the coat and shoes.

I am in the minority but I like this look. It is fresh, and at least Marion takes some risk…

I’m pretty into this too. It’s unique and the coat is amazing.

I don’t find this repelling as such, but it’s a very forgettable look. Dior is unsalvageable under Raf IMO.

I was there at this premiere and my first thought when she took to the stage to introduce her film is wtf? Why is Marion wearing bermuda shorts. Yes it was an afternoon screening but still.

Btw this she wore this for the premier of her movie “Two days One Night”. The Gere movie you mention above was screening around the same time.

She is selling it to me.

    No surprise, horrible as usual.

The coat is not bad but the bermuda shorts is ruining this look !
Bermuda are not good on anybody !

I would’ve preferred this with long pants.

This needed different shoes and not the runway boots, either. Barely there sandals, maybe, or oxfords – the pumps just don’t mesh for me with the casual look.

She made it work, but this is not favorite from her at all

    • Christine October 6, 2014 at 10:51 am #

      not my favorite*

I agree about Marion giving a lot of charm to the look but that is one horrible collection. The Dior ladies must be praying for the pre-fall collection to come soon.

I actually ordered this coat but would wear with long black trousers. The coat that will hit the store is made of different fabric – the one Marion is wearing is velvet- but is missing the buttons as that detail alone would have increased the price of the already expensive coat by around 50 percent. The embroidery is stunning .

I never worry about the collection I see on the runway as the commercial collection I know will be stunning.

I was just about to say that I would like to see the coat worn with a pair of sleek black pants. The shorts are horrendous, but that coat is absolutely lovely. Also nice to get to know some more details, cause I think picture not always do clothes justice. Unfortunately, I don’t have access to Dior clothes, so thank you for sharing šŸ˜‰

        • Lee Ann October 6, 2014 at 6:50 pm #

Sadly if the prices become anymore ridiculous I won’t have any more access either! I know Raf wants to modernise the brand but I thought the quilted shorts not very elegant.
