Idina Menzel In Vera Wang – Oscars 2014

Idina Menzel brought a bit of Broadway to Los Angeles at the 2014 Oscars on Sunday, March 2.

The singer of ‘Let it Go’, which is nominated for Best Original Song in the animated film ‘Frozen’, wore custom Vera Wang in a deep, mossy green.

The dress was all about classic glamour and fit Idina’s frame perfectly.

While I agree that the look called for some major jewels, particularly on a nominee, these were a bit contemporary for my taste. I would have loved to see her dripping with some classic pieces worthy of Elizabeth Taylor and a red lip would have amped up the glamour as well.

All in all Idina is killing it and I’m looking forward to seeing her perform tonight. Perhaps there’s even another beautiful dress up her sleeve!

I love deep green hue of the gown. I can see the point of it needing some serious jewels to properly show it off.

What ever this style of dress is called, they are sort of a dime a dozen. However, Idina kills this look. Perfection! The color and the fit are what’s making this so amazing. Love!

What are the details of the dress she wore to perform? Who was the designer?

Pretty gorgeous, imo. It’s simple but stunning.

+1, I agree completely. I love this darker approach.

OUTDATED. I already saw this dress in the early 2000s.

looks outdated. the colour is too muted. that’s the shade of green made for station wagons, not dresses. hair is plain. necklace doesn’t suit the dress. i’m surprised you like this…

    Not feeling this.

    This looks dated to me.

I was thinking the same thing. The color is amazing but the style is dated especially with the addition of the collared necklace.

I can see what you’re saing, but with more interesting hair I would still have liked this.
