Jessica Mauboy In Josh Goot - ARIA Awards 2013

In the US you have the American Music Awards, in the UK we have The Brit Awards, and in Australia they have the ARIA Awards with the crème de la crème of Australian music talent, including Jessica Mauboy who celebrated in the most colourful way possible yesterday evening.

The gorgeous popstar wore a Josh Goot Resort 2013 look featuring a strapless corset top with a structured silhouette and a multi-coloured flower print paired with a colour-block asymmetrical flared skirt with a copper leather panel.

There is a lot going on, which is why she kept the styling simple with an updo, subtle Bulgari jewels, neutral makeup and black Louboutin pumps; however, the model’s heels are much preferred – both the style and colour.

Her ensemble has so much character that I feel she let it down somewhat with the uninspiring footwear.

Do you agree?

The dress is an amaterish craft project and she doesn’t have what it takes to sell it somewhat.

Jess is usually pretty good but I’m not feeling it here, though. The dress is pretty bad and the styling doesn’t help.

    What an ugly dress.

What a gorgeous ensemble, but the styling is a snoozefest.

Looks like Raf simmons on LSD

the dress patterns are lovely, but the whole thing looks like a mashup of a Peter Pilotto dress with a Dior (raf simons). The drape dragging on the floor isn’t helping and the accessories are just letting the whole thing down. No I don’t like this

I really like the ensemble and the bright colors work well with her complexion. I just wish she had paid more attention to details.

The yellow drape should not be dragging on the floor. It pulls the look downward.
The shoes — well, I appreciate that she wanted to keep it simple, but the officey pumps are a NO. Either nude or black sandals would have been much better.
Like Kathy (above) I think the hair should have been neater.

What a styling disaster. Her hair needs to be sleeker, her posture more confident, and her shoes more delicate.

      I totally agree.

I don’t think she has the attitude to pull this off, it’s not working for me.

I don’t love the dress but it certainly needs more attitude, it needs a Star. At least, it needs Katy Perry!

Exactly. This dress is too much for her.
