Martini’s 150th Anniversary Gala
On Thursday Martini invited me to Lake Como to celebrate their 150th anniversary along with Nik Thakkar and Amber Atherton.
Since 1863, Martini has been creating drinks synonymous with ‘gioia di vivere’ (‘joy of living’), filled with style, passion and the enthusiasm to live life to its fullest.
The spectacular gala was hosted at the beautiful Villa Erba, on the magnificent shores of Lake Como, in Cernobbio, Italy.
Upon arrival we all had our pictures taken with the Martini step and repeat in the backdrop before walking the red carpet to the magnificent venue, which was lined with racing cars with Martini branding.
Once inside we were offered an array of Martini drinks, including classic cocktails, Martini Italian sparkling wines and Martini Royale.
After sampling the buffet – several times – we made our way to the gardens, which overlooked Lake Como; even in nightfall it was still a spectacular view.
During the evening I sampled the Martini gelato, which was quite an experience, plus there were several secret rooms dotted around the venue.
The evening really got started when British award-winning singer-songwriter Lily Allen sang a few of her classic hits, including ‘Smile’, and she also did an amazing rendition of Beyonce’s ‘Irreplaceable’.
Next up was a special DJ performance by Mark Ronson, who had us dancing in our heels until the wee hours of the morning.
