Helen Hunt In H&M – 2013 Oscars

Helen Hunt took to the red carpet in a surprising design at Sunday’s 2013 Oscars in Los Angeles.

Nominated for ‘The Sessions’, Helen could have had any designer of her choosing but she opted for a gown by H&M to support the mass retailer’s global green initiative which she style with a Swarovski clutch.

Minus the navy colour and satin material, the strapless column silhouette looked similar to her look from the SAG Awards. I love an affordable gown as much as the next gal but I wish the material hadn’t wrinkled so much before her red carpet strut. Wrinkles aside, I think the dress worked well on Helen.

While the actress opted for a look from a mass retailer, she sparkled in upwards of $700,000 in jewels from Martin Katz with a multi-strand silver necklace, statement-making bangles, and stud earrings.

I love this from he neck up. To me, this dress is a real shame, the fit, the creases and the fabric are not worthy of Helen’s Oscar nomination.

A surprisingly disappointing look from Helen Hunt. She was on such a good run during the award season. This look is really a downfall.

she looks beautiful from the neck up but the dress is such so cheap looking.

so boring even $700,000 worth of jewelry couldn’t liven it up.

Shame about the wrinkles, adore the colour though!

I find H&M quite hypocritical with this campagin. So yes, they produce under 1% of their clothes ‘enviromentally’, at a low price. So why dont they do it with ALL of them.
Plus I dont get going “affordable” and them throwing on more than half a million in jewels (not to mention that it would be interesting to check out the origin of those stones).

Anyway, I LOVE Helen Hunt as an actress and love her polished elegant minimalist style. But this night… not so much 😛

Kudos to her for wearing an environmentally friendly gown, but it’s now working. It’s ill fitted and those wrinkles on the gown are doing nothing for her. She looks gorgeous from the neck up though.

Really? H&M? You mean I can purchase this at the store?

Oh how I wish the wrinkles weren’t there! 🙁 She would have looked so lovely without them. But even with them she looks great. You can’t really tell that it’s H&M.

Gorgeous color, and in the long shot, glanced at quickly, it looks dramatic and striking…but if you really look it’s rather ill-fitted, baggy, and crease. Hair, makeup, and necklace are lovely though.

Would have been beautiful it not for the wrinkles. Not stunning, but beautiful.
