Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Alicia Keys was the third celebrity, following Fergie and Katy Perry, to wear a Spring 2012 Couture look straight off the runway to the 2012 Grammy Awards this evening.

The singer donned an Alexandre Vauthier Spring 2012 Couture fitted LBD with padded shoulders.

Her look was teamed with a bold statement choker and Christian Louboutin ‘Bis Un Bout’ pumps with PVC trims, which were presented during the Alexandre Vauthier show.

That ankle strap isn’t doing her any favours and they are making her legs appear really short.

A rockabilly hairstyle completed her look.

Nicki Minaj wanted to ensure that she was the talking point of the 2012 Grammy Awards.

Congrats. Mission accomplished.

She wore a one-of-a-kind scarlet satin Versace robe with the label’s signature Medusa head emblazoned across the skirt.

Matching short sequin-embellished gloves completed her look, which is more ‘Little Red Riding Hood’ than an attempt at religious chic.

The most shocking thing about this look is Versace’s involvement as I’m totally numb to Nicki’s and Lady Gaga’s antics.

Taylor Swift arrived on the red carpet at the 2012 Grammy Awards wearing in yet another nude, sparkly gown.

That said, Taylor did show off some variety in her Zuhair Muard Fall 2011 Couture gown, with a high neckline which we haven’t seen before on the strapless-gown-loving singer.

Her cap-sleeved gown featured intricate gold and rose-gold beading, plus a flowing train.

The most unexpected part of the ensemble was Taylor’s hair and makeup.

While she usually opts for a signature look of tight curls and red lips on the carpet, Taylor showed off a polished ballerina bun and neutral makeup.

I know this won’t be popular, but I love the look.

Kelly Rowland attended the 2012 Grammy Awards this evening.

The Destiny’s Child singer was glowing in a nude Alberta Ferretti gown with an illusion yoke and silver floral embroidered bodice.

It’s a relatively simple gown, by Grammy standards, but Kelly looks absolutely phenomenal.

A centre-parted do of tight curls adds a touch of diva, along with large diamond earrings.

Without much effort, Rihanna looked super sexy as she walked the red carpet at the 2012 Grammy Awards in LA this evening.

She had jaws dropping wearing a Giorgio Armani black silk custom gown.

The gown features a plunging neckline that is complemented by a respectable yet still daring central split. The back is dramatically open before the gown cascades into an elegant train.

Rihanna revealed that she had co-designed the dress with Giorgio Armani, and that she’s currently working on a capsule collection for the designer. Her inspiration for this dress was Michelle Pfeiffer in ‘Scarface’.

I still don’t get RiRi’s dirty blonde hair with visible roots and blunt bangs, but whilst wearing this gown, who’s checking out her hair?

Pendant necklaces, a gold clutch and Christian Louboution PVC-accented pumps completed her look.

Her makeup is flawless.

I had a feeling that Katy Perry would wear a blue dress to match her dyed hair at the 2012 Grammy Awards tonight, and it looks like I was right.

The singer glided down the red carpet wearing an Elie Saab Spring 2012 Couture gown.

Her straight-off-the-runway light blue three-quarter-sleeved embellished floral appliqué gown features a scoop back and cinched-in waist accented with a simple ribbon.

This look would’ve been phenomenal had Katy sported her trademark raven locks.

Unfortunately, her mismatched hair with visible roots unbalances the regal elements of the look.
