Rooney Mara attended the premiere of ‘Carol’ during the 68th annual Cannes Film Festival on Sunday (May 17) in Cannes, France.

Making today an all white affair, the actress went back into the archives to unearth this beauty from the Olivier Theyskens for Rochas Fall 2005 collection.

Standing the test of time, the ethereal halter gown makes quite an impact with the super fine silk chiffon ruffles to the embroidery on the skirt.

As we expect, both the hair and makeup were kept simple with no jewels to speak of.

Sienna Miller walked the red carpet with fellow judge Xavier Dolan for the premiere of ‘Carol’ during the 68th annual Cannes Film Festival on Sunday (May 17) in Cannes, France.

After her Valentino Couture offering last night, it was clear that she was edging back to her signature style, but this I can’t explain.

Tonight she was more bewitching than boho wearing a Sonia Rykiel Pre-Fall 2015 sheer dress and cape enriched with velvet stars and safety pin accents which she styled with a Bulgari clutch and jewels.

Florence Welch, queen of the caped look, would’ve sold this to me, but this is too left-field, even for Sienna. It’s almost like a halloween costume.

Aishwarya Rai attended the premiere of ‘Carol’ during the 68th annual Cannes Film Festival on Sunday (May 17) in Cannes, France.

The Indian beauty made her first appearance during the festival wearing Elie Saab, of course.

The green gown with its sheer panels and embellishments is nice enough, but it doesn’t sweep me off my feet nor does it engulf me with goosebumps; which are rare feelings not to have in the presence of Queen Rai.

Perhaps the issue is that I am comparing this look to her previous two seasons where she blew me away, this is more like a light breeze.

The Australia actress decision to go big was very welcome as I was totally captivated by her Giles Fall 2015 strapless gown.

Managing pull off the complexity of the gown ever so elegantly (that picture of her walking up the stairs just made my night), I was immediately drawn in by the hypnotic print which is a refreshing change for a Cannes premiere.

Is the alluring dark romanticism lost on you, or is this another slam dunk for Cate Blanchett?

Li Bingbing returned to the red carpet for the premiere of ‘Carol’ during the 68th annual Cannes Film Festival on Sunday (May 17) in Cannes, France.

My immediate thought upon seeing her in this Elie Saab Fall 2014 Couture gown was, didn’t you wear this yesterday?

Colour aside, this dress is almost identical in style to the one she wore yesterday.

As beautiful as these gowns are, it’s becoming harder to identify one from the other making them repetitive and at this point, boring.

I have no words for those shoes.

Erin O’Connor In Ralph & Russo Couture – ‘Carol’ Cannes Film Festival Premiere

Erin O’Connor finally brought some drama to the red carpet for the premiere of ‘Carol’ during the 68th annual Cannes Film Festival on Sunday (May 17) in Cannes, France.

While I wish the makeup wasn’t so Carey Mulligan-bare from a distance, I love the drama imbued by the colour, the train and of course that bow.

I’ve waited a long time to see this Ralph & Russo Spring 2014 Couture gown on the red carpet, so I am thrilled that:

a. it was worn at Cannes and;

b. it was worn by someone with the presence to pull it off so gracefully.

A necklace would’ve kill this look stone dead, so I’m glad she showed some restraint opting for just a ruby encrusted diamond cuff.
