Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Nong Poy In Ralph Lauren - 33rd Hong Kong Film Awards

Thai actress Nong Poy took to the red carpet for the 33rd Hong Kong Film Awards in Hong Kong on Sunday (April 13).

The actress wore a red off-the-shoulder Ralph Lauren Spring 2014 cape gown which she styled with a matching red lip and subtle diamond jewels.

You may remember that Lupita Nyong’o wore this epic gown to the Golden Globe Awards earlier this year.

Should this gown have been archived after Lupita or does Nong Poy also do justice to this breath-taking look?

Calvin Klein Singapore Celebration

Dakota Johnson and Zhang Ziyi attended an event hosted by Calvin Klein in Singapore, to celebrate the brand. The showcase included glass installations featuring Calvin Klein’s Home pieces and more than 30 models wearing looks from the brand’s fall collection.

It is the first time a fashion event was held at the Old Kallang Airport, which was closed in 1955.

The star-studded show also marked the opening of four new Calvin Klein Collection stores in Southeast Asia this year.

Dakota Johnson: The ’50 Shades of Grey’ actress wore a Calvin Klein on trend pink layered frock with a sheer skirt styled with black accessories including a belt nipping in her waist.

Zhang Ziyi: Opting for a full length grey look from Calvin Klein’s Pre-Fall 2014 collection, the actress styled the look with a large metal box clutch and a selection of silver jewels including a studded bracelet.

Both ladies look lovely, however, I am drawn to Zhang’s look, mostly for the interesting way she styled a very simple look.

Li Bingbing In Zuhair Murad - Jacky Chen's Charity Birthday Party

Li Bingbing attended Jacky Chan’s charity birthday party on Monday (April 7) in Beijing, China.

The Chinese actress, who is known for her demure red carpet looks, tried something different on this occasion wearing a Zuhair Murad Pre-Fall 2014 teal beaded creation featuring long crochet sleeves and black shoulder pads.

Zuhair Murad designs consistently make an impact, and it doesn’t get any more impactful than this floor-length gown.

I love the mesh details, which emit an air of seductive confidence; again, something we don’t usually see from Bingbing.

Many of you weren’t too fond of Shakira’s Zuhair Murad ACM Awards gown, calling it tacky.

Would you put Bingbing’s gown in the same category?

Zhang Ziyi In Sass & Bide - 'Entertainment Experience China' Launch

Hollywood director John Woo and actress Zhang Ziyi announced their participation in the Emmy Award winning cross media project Entertainment Experience China which is planned to start in May 2014, at an event held at the Renaissance Hotel on Friday (April 4) in Beijing, China.

The actress wore a Sass & Bide Spring 2014 ensemble of two parts: a strapless dress featuring a vest-style top and flirty polka-dot skirt; styled with a black collarless blazer.

A part of me likes this look, especially when styled with the black-and-white Giuseppe Zanotti zig-zag pumps, because it’s has an edgy, yet sweet vibe going on, plus the structured tailoring, but the other takes me back to that Chloe disaster, which also featured a polka-dot skirt from last year.

Carina Lau In Ralph & Russo - 8th Asian Film Awards

Carina Lau attended The 8th Asian Film Awards on Thursday (March 27) in Macau, China.

The actress can always be relied upon to bring us a breathtaking, dramatic look, and that was most evident in this Ralph & Russo Spring 2014 Couture design.

Made from the most delicate lace, the shimmering red one-sleeved gown with a sassy side slit was emboldened with a satin rosette detail on the bodice.

Rather than overwhelm, the petite star took on this spectacular piece opting for subtle makeup and swept-up hair to ensure nothing detracted from this work of art.
