Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Demi Moore opted for colour on the red carpet for the ‘Margin Cell’ New York premiere.

The actress, who has a preference for wearing only black, chose this red Zac Posen dress.

Her red leopard taffeta dress with shoulder pads was, of course, paired with black Brian Atwood pumps – no change there.

The black velvet ‘Kasha’ pumps have a studded detail along the heel to provide an interesting twist.

Forevermark diamond jewelry, a black clutch and trademark sleek, straight locks completed her look.

A simple white tee and leather shorts beat out many red carpet looks including a Couture dress this week.

You were blown away by Miranda Kerr’s simple, stylist-free, effortless, street-style look this week.

My favourite was Crystal Renn in Zac Posen.

The model looked amazing wearing a gold sequinned gown with a chic updo and beautiful red lips.

Our choices couldn’t be more different.

Effortless street-style versus high-octane glamour.

We’ve seen Leelee Sobieski, so here are some more great looks from the 2011 Metropolitan Opera Season’s opening night performance of ‘Anna Bolena’ in New York City last night.

Crystal Renn: Not many can out-diva Coco Rocha, but Crystal comes very close. The model looked breathtaking wearing a gold Zac Posen Resort 2012 gold sequin gown. A neat updo and beautiful red pout put her in contention for BDOTW.

Christine Baranski attended the 2011 Emmy Awards tonight.

The actress chose a custom Zac Posen midnight-blue silk faille double lapel gown, which features a deep V-neck and short sleeves.

Christine paired her gown with silver pointed-toe heels, a white clutch and diamond jewelry including statement earrings and a diamond bracelet.

Sleek hair and coral lips provided the finishing touches to her look.

It’s a beautiful colour and a sophisticated, classic look.

She’s always flawless and age appropriate.

After showing in Paris for 2 seasons, Zac Posen returned to New York to showcase his Spring 2012 collection.

It was a very triumphant return and I’m glad I was seated front row to get a close look at the 35 red carpet worthy looks which evoked Old Hollywood glamour.

Coco Rocha, muse and diva extraordinaire on the runway, opened the show wearing a beautiful fitted cream day dress.

Many more day/cocktail looks followed including a very pretty cornflower blue printed trumpet dress and a champagne corded embroidered day dress.

With Awards Season just around the corner, I have a feeling the we will see many of these stunning gowns on the red carpet.

The tulle edelweiss embroidered gown on the left is my favourite look of the season so far.

Haltered gowns, bustier gowns, tulle gowns, duchess satin gowns, strapless gowns and a gorgeous midnight ombre ballgown had the fashion pack in total awe.

Charlotte Olympia provided the footwear in black, gold, nude and silver with a silver heel.

Quirky Illesteva sunglasses were teamed with embellished Judith Leiber clutches and Elizabeth Cole jewelry provided the perfect finishing touches to this Old Hollywood collection.

Bring on the Emmy’s.

Back in March, Leigh Lezark attended Zac Posen’s Fall 2011 presentation wearing sexy leopard print dress from the designers’ Pre-Fall 2011 collection.

Leigh added black accessories including a fur jacket, black pumps and a quilted Chanel bag to her fitted knee-length bustier dress with a sweetheart neckline.

Reese Witherspoon accepted the ‘Generation Award’ at this year’s MTV Movie Awards wearing the same dress which she had shortened.

With her hair down in a teased wavy style, she completed her look with a pair of nude Jimmy Choo ‘Quiet’ peep-toes.

Mary J. Blige wore the same dress to attend the 2011 McDonald’s 365Black Awards this month.

The singer kept things simple by only adding a pair of black patent leather peep-toe heels to her look.

I love the dress on Leigh, especially with the black accessories as it looks incredibly chic against her signature jet-black hair, but her shoes definitely let her down here.

And while I admire Mary’s individual style, her bleach-blonde bob is competing for attention with the dress and just isn’t my taste.

Even though I think she could have added more exciting accessories, my vote is going to Reese. I much prefer her overall styling of the dress.
