WSJ Magazine 2017 Innovator Awards Red Carpet Roundup

The WSJ Magazine 2017 Innovator Awards on Wednesday (November 1) in New York City were an elegant affair with many stylish attendees opting for an inky colour palette.

Naomi Campbell: Despite the asymmetrical proportions of her Jean Paul Gaultier Couture outfit, methinks many will be focused on the chain facial jewellery. She went for a show-stopping look, but I wish there were a few less accessories so we could better appreciate the way the dress merges into trousers.

Gwyneth Paltrow:
Donning Michael Kors Collection Spring 2018, the actress tempered a sleek white and black dress with an oversized black blazer. I’m sure many will describe this as shapeless, but I found the proportions refreshing. What’s more, I appreciate the way she carried it off with a relaxed elegance.

Maddie Ziegler:
The dancer struck a pose in a slinky Tommy Hilfiger slip dress which was enlivened by gold zigzags and inky sequined diamonds on the hem. The gold lace-up shoes tied in the frock’s detail while adding a fun element that was appropriate for her 15 years.

With two pretty-in-pink looks, Ana de Armas attended the ‘Blade Runner 2049’ Tokyo press conference and premiere on Monday (October 23) and Tuesday (October 24), respectively.

Press Conference: With Harrison Ford at her side, the actress was lovely in a Proenza Schouler Spring 2018 leather dress that maintained its sense of delicately prim lightness by virtue of the ballet-pink hue. Christian Louboutin pumps rounded out the chicly refined statement.

Gabrielle Union Promotes ‘We’re Gonna Need More Wine’

Gabrielle Union has been promoting her new memoir, ‘We’re Gonna Need More Wine’, in New York City over the past two days, leaving us spoiled for choice with her six different statement-making looks.

Mixing bold patterns is not for the faint of fashion heart, but here Gabrielle shows us precisely how it’s done in a checkered Hugo Boss outfit paired with a Stella Jean coat. Despite the wide-leg trousers and sweepingly long coat, the proportions all played together so well. A Michael Kors Collection bag provided a sophisticated finish.

For her second ensemble, in which she was seen outside the ‘Good Morning America’ studios, she made me look at chambray in a whole new sexy light with this Gabriela Hearst Spring 2018 dress. The patchwork effect of the Gabriela Hearst Fall 2017 trench coat brought extra attitude to the look, which was imbued with an urban-western sense of glamour. Gabriela Hearst ‘Peter’ shoes and the Gabriela Hearst ‘Nina’ bag completed the effect.

Dakota Johnson In Proenza Schouler – ‘Call Me by Your Name’ New York Film Festival Screening

Dakota Johnson attended the screening of ‘Call Me by Your Name’ during the 55th New York Film Festival on Tuesday (October 3), which saw her not wear Gucci for the first time since May 2017.

She is a great ambassador for Alessandro Michele, however, this was the first time in a while (perhaps this year) that I’ve felt truly excited by Dakota on the red carpet.

Perhaps it’s the unpredictability of this Proenza Schouler Spring 2018 dress oozing plenty of flare with its cascading ruffled and sensual bustier layer or the freshness of it all.

Simple styling which included the Proenza Schouler ‘Curl’ clutch, Manolo Blahnik sandals and Mizuki earrings plus a red pout provided the finishing touches.

Thoughts on Dakota’s new look?
