Ladies Loved Lanvin on the red carpet this year. Celebrities could not get enough of Alber Elbaz designs.
Natalie Portman, who wore his signature tiered ruffle cocktail dresses many times on the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival which kicked started the trend of wearing Lanvin on the red carpet this summer.
Padma Lakshmi and Natalie both wore 3 stunning Spring 2008 design’s, with Carine Roitfeld wore my favourite billowing dress, with a large patent belt to nip in her waist.
Lanvin fever did not die down when the Fall 2008 collections hit the runway. Quite the opposite. Even more stars walked the red carpet in the dark, mysterious designs.
Elbaz even managed to make what appears to be a bin liner -as worn by Brandy- look good.
Herve Leger was last years winner, before we had Herve Leger overload.

For some reason this event totally passed me by as I just found it, despite the event taking place on November, 6.
Tilda Swinton attended the 17th Annual BAFTA/LA Britannia Awards held at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza in LA wearing a Lanvin Resort 2009 polka dotted halter neck gown.
Tilda is the queen of androgyny, so this very feminine dress is quite ironic.
On paper this would have sounded like a bad idea, but Tilda does pull it off, and with some style.
I love the paillette detail on her shoulder.

NET-A-PORTER has an exciting addition.
Lanvin’s pre-collection for spring 2009, was added to their site yesterday, and the collection includes exquisitely elegant jewels and shoes, such as stylish wooden heels and pearl and ribbon necklaces, each sure to transform your look.
Must haves include a pearl and grosgrain necklace, crystal drop earrings, and those gorgeous cone heel pumps.

Lanvin’s Spring 2009 collection was one of the last of Paris Fashion Week, and the one I was looking forward to the most.
I was not disappointed. In fact was was surprised Alber Elbaz introduced prints and floral embellishment on a few of the pieces, something I do not recall him using before.
Some maybe tiring of Alber’s silhouettes and shapes, but for me these are very much a Lanvin signature, and I do not think a collection would be complete without them.
There were many one-shoulder tops, and dresses in this collection, as there were many draped pieces.
The colour palette had lots of black, but there were also loud colours, like pink, green, orange, and yellow and more neutral colours like nude, pink and grey.
I have not doubt we will see many of these dresses on the red carpet. My favourite is the blue animal print one-shouldered dress.

Claire Danes was a vision of pure loviness when she arrived at the
Toronto Film Festival yesterday for her premiere
Me and Orson Welles, wearing a midnight blue
Lanvin asymmetric dress.
I knew this asymmetric layered, body-con dress was beautiful on the runway, but I did not realise how much so, until I saw it on Claire.
The actress, who stars alongside teen heart-throb Zac Efron in this movie, wore her amazing dress with cork Christian Louboutin slingbacks.

Rachel Evan Wood wore a
Lanvin Fall 2008 two-tone banded silk turtleneck dress to the photocall for her new movie,
The Wrestler at the
Piazzale del Casino during the 2008
Venice Film Festival this afternoon.
She wore her dress with black peep-toe shoes and a black touch. The only visible Gothic feature was her black nail varnish.

This evening for the premiere of
The Wrestler, Evan wore a silk olive green keyhole
Monqiue Lhuiller Fall 2008 gown, which had jeweled embellishments on the neckline and on the waist.
She complimented her dress with gold heels, and a gold Jimmy Choo Kase oval clutch.
Both looks work very well, but I am loving the Lanvin look best.
I am glad that Evan Rachel Wood has stopped emulating Dita, and worked more on finding her own look.

Alex Curran is the wife of Liverpool Football Club midfielder Steven Gerrard. She is known as a *WAG and loves her labels. She can often be found in Liverpool boutique
Cricket, spending her husbands hard earn cash.
The blonde beauty wore this red Lanvin Spring 2008 one-shouldered ruffled top with a high waisted black pencil skirt, and a gold buckled waist belt to the Grand National at Aintree back in April.
Fellow WAG and arch enemy - think Lauren Conrad and Heidi Montage without the American accents - Coleen McLoughlin, wore the same top in yellow, when she attended Kylie’s concert in Manchester this weekend.
The label loving WAG - with a job - can often be found in Flannels boutique spending a fortune on labels she probably can’t pronounce, but she does have a great sense of style.
I love how both ladies have worn this top, and although it looks great with jeans and appeared with pants on the runway, I LOVE Alex’s look, as this is very much my style, so she wins for me.
*WAGs (or Wags) is an acronym used particularly (but by no means exclusively) by the British tabloid press to describe the Wives And Girlfriends of the England national football team. It came into common use during the 2006 World Cup, held in Germany, although it had been used occasionally before that.
