Lily James In Christian Dior – SiriusXM Studios

Lily James In Christian Dior - SiriusXM Studios

Lily James continued to promote her latest movie, ‘Cinderella’, by paying a visit to SiriusXM Studios on Tuesday (March 10) in New York City.

The British actress wore Dior again, this time selecting a colourful look from the Spring 2015 collection styled with Stuart Weitzman ‘Nudist’ sandals.

Charmingly sweet, I love how this piece surreptitiously features pleats to subtly flatter the waist and draw the look together with delicate definition.

Lily has had a near-perfect run on this promo tour, which would’ve been 100% had it not been for the Dolce dud.

Lily James In Dolce & Gabbana – ‘Cinderella’ New York Screening

Lily James In Dolce & Gabbana - 'Cinderella' New York Screening

Following her trip to Mexico, Lily James attended a screening of Disney’s ‘Cinderella’ held at the Tribeca Grand Hotel on Sunday (March 8) in New York City.

With no Disney references on this occasion, the actress wore a Dolce & Gabbana black and red macramé lace long-sleeve dress styled with Stuart Weitzman platform sandals.

While this dress embodies Dolce & Gabbana’s enduringly romantic vision and embraces ladylike sensibilities, I am not too fond of the boxy silhouette.

On Keira Knightley or Jaime King – i.e. those showcasing maternity style – this would’ve worked better.

Menswear Red Carpet Roundup

Menswear Red Carpet Roundup

Here is a quick roundup of some of the men who have taken to the red carpet on this very quiet week.

Richard Madden: The ‘Game of Thrones’ actor, who is Prince Charming to Lily James’ Cinderella, joined his co-star on the red carpet for the LA premiere on Sunday (March 1). He wore Dolce & Gabbana with fine details that make this tuxedo suit the flawless epitome of black-tie elegance, but it’s the blue eyes that really draw you in.

Dev Patel: The British actor attended ‘The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel’ premiere held at the Ziegfeld Theater on Tuesday (March 3) in New York City. I love Dev for never opting for the classic, expected look. Like David Oyelowo, Dev is not afraid of colour or experimenting with different fabrications. On this occasion he wore a Salvatore Ferragamo tan corduroy notched-lapel suit, which on paper doesn’t appeal but in real life exemplifies the essence of sartorial dressing. This look did make me chuckle as it reminded me of the ‘Sex And The City’ episode where Steve asks Miranda, “What’s wrong with corduroy?” to which she replies, “I don’t have enough time to tell you what’s wrong with corduroy.” Dev proves that statement wrong.

Goya Toledo In Dolce & Gabbana – Fotogramas Awards

Goya Toledo In Dolce & Gabbana - Fotogramas Awards

Goya Toledo attended the Fotogramas Awards ceremony held at Joy Eslava on Monday (March 2) in Madrid, Spain.

Known for her love of all things Elie Saab, the actress opted for a different designer on this rare occasion, wearing Dolce & Gabbana.

Her ruched strapless dress, lavishly decorated with the brand’s signature carnations – a favourite of Domenico Dolce’s mother – had plenty of flamenco spirit infused by the ruffles enlivening the skirt.

A gold choker would’ve been my choice to take this down a more directional route, but Goya’s cuff and opulent gold earrings serve this exotic piece just as well.

Best Dressed Of The Week – Diane Kruger In Donna Karan Atelier & Rosamund Pike In Givenchy Couture

BDOTW 2 march

Red was the colour of the week as the majority of our favourites donned the colour on Oscar night.

Emma Stone’s 100% record of winning best dressed polls was finally broken by the one and only Diane Kruger, who took our breath away in a crimson Donna Karan Atelier jumpsuit.

After a truly lacklustre awards season, Rosamund Pike finally gave us something to smile about on Oscar night, wearing a stunning Givenchy Couture gown. Had she been an Olympic hurdler, this would’ve been her jumping the final hurdle before crossing the finishing line having knocked over all of the previous hurdles.

With Eddie Redmayne suppressing his love for colour and patterns this awards season, my favourite by far was David Oyelowo for standing out in his bold red Dolce & Gabbana, while you went for the classic elegance of the dashing Chris Pine.

Paloma Faith In Armani Privé, Giles & Dolce & Gabbana – 2015 BRIT Awards

Paloma Faith In Armani Privé 2015 BRIT Awards

It was a busy night for Paloma Faith, who attended the 2015 BRIT Awards held at the O2 Arena on Wednesday (February 25) in London, England.

Following the red carpet, she gave us a moving rain-soaked performance before collecting her award for ‘Best British Female Artist’.

Here is a rundown of her three looks.

Red Carpet: Despite this look being a re-run, I loved seeing this Armani Privé Fall 2014 tulle bustier dress with red polka dots and black veil net with small raised red chenille decorations on the red carpet once again. I’m still in awe of how elegant and refined the look is. Paloma does it justice, toning down her theatrics for a sleek hairstyle and bold red lip. You may remember that Rocio Munoz Morales wore this same dress during Sanremo 2015.
