Angelababy In Christian Dior – Madame Tussauds Wax Figure Unveiling

Earlier today (February 7) Angelababy’s wax figure was unveiled at the Hong Kong Madame Tussauds.

Had it not been for the additional photos, I would’ve been hard pressed to figure out who was who, such is the likeness.

Both were decked out in Dior, wearing a sparkling degrade sequin gown from the true blue Fall 2017 collection.

The look is very much in tune with Angelababy’s graceful, girlie style. But I have to cheekily say that I prefer the wax figures styling without the chunky white watch and with the smaller stud earrings.

You may remember that Julia Michaels wore this same look to the 2017 VMAs.

Maribel Verdu In Christian Dior – 2018 Goya Awards

Maribel Verdu joined Nieves Alvarez, Penelope Cruz and Goya Toledo for the 2018 Goya Awards on Saturday (February 3) in Madrid, Spain.

I’m sure many actresses would’ve modified this Christian Dior Fall 2017 two piece look; opting out of the sparkly layer, so I love that Maribel didn’t go down the predictable route with this look.

When it comes to the styling however, I’m not so sure.

While the necklace gives the look a regal air, the clutch and furry sliders feel too causal for the look.

Lorde In Christian Dior, Celine & 3.1 Phillip Lim – 2018 MusiCares Person Of The Year Honoring Fleetwood Mac

Lorde joined Rachel Platten at the 2018 MusiCares Person Of The Year Honoring Fleetwood Mac at Radio City Music Hall on Friday (January 26) in New York City.

Ahead of her performance onstage, she was on the red carpet in a Christian Dior Pre-Fall 2018 embellished gown with a certain darkly romantic-punk ethos that the singer often favours. However, I know eyes are rolling at another sheer Dior design.

Ironically, Lorde’s on-stage look was far less edgy, as she wore a tailored Celine tuxedo and 3.1 Phillip Lim trouser power suit. The proportions were the stylistically provocative element here, with the high waist and wide leg of the trousers. So, the nipped-and-tucked blazer and blouse were a fitting match to balance it out.

What did you make of her two black looks?

16th Sidaction

There was a bounty of beauties at the 16th Sidaction event, which is part of the Paris Fashion Week Haute Couture Spring Summer 2018 season, on Thursday (January 25) in Paris, France.

Melanie Thierry: I did a double take when I saw the actress as her blonde hair has been dyed a striking ginger shade. It was offset with the jeweled embellishment on her Miu Miu outfit. The beige coat could be deemed too casual by some, but it had an insouciant allure.

Isabelle Huppert: The ‘Elle’ actress proved the beauty of simplicity in an Azzaro Fall 2017 Couture gown. The diagonal detailing had a captivating wrap-around event that showcased her incredible figure.

Elodie Bouchez: Skinny pants plus a mannish blazer is a favourite silhouette of many. She took her Saint Laurent separates further adding a shimmering shirt and supersized earrings. It could have had 80s power suit connotations, but the dark colour palette and tailoring made it feel au courant.

‘Le Bal Surrealiste’ Dior

The Christian Dior Spring 2018 Couture show featured an imaginative surrealist mood, and I can only imagine that continued in force at Le Bal Surrealiste Dior that was hosted afterwards on Monday (January 22) during Paris Fashion Week with Dior’s constant fans dressed to impress in the label.

Bella Hadid: Black has been Bella’s Paris Fashion Week colour, and this sheer frock continued that trend whilst working right in line with Bella’s provocative style. I like the romantic, off-the-shoulder silhouetted and embellishment, which I feel brings a bit more composure to the see-through look. A ‘Lady Dior’ quilted bag and Dior shoes completed the picture, with a sculptural hairstyle to play to the party theme.

Gemma Arterton: Gemma balanced her sleek ’do and power red lip with the girlish sophistication of this sparkling, tea-length dress that was ladylike in silhouette yet dazzling in sequin embellishment.

Annabelle Wallis: It looks as if the fashion house’s logo briefs are back in action with this sheer corset gown. I was grateful for the chic moto jacket to bring some edge to the sultry, borrowed-from-the-boudoir look.

Front Row @ Christian Dior Spring 2018 Couture

A couple of days after the Dior Homme show, more Dior-clad darlings descended on the Rodin Museum for the fashion house’s runway show, the first big one of Paris haute couture week on Monday (January 22).

Emily Blunt: Sleekly elegant styling was the only way to go for this ornately printed Christian Dior Pre-Fall 2018 frock, and Emily complied.

Annabelle Wallis: Statement shirts continue to be a relevant trend, and Annabelle’s fit the bill. I like how she styled it with the graphic jacket (which coincidentally reflected the show’s checquerboard set), high-waist, cropped trousers, and hat for a slice of Parisian rebel-chic.

Willow Smith: Perhaps taking a cue from the surrealist mood of the show in her white eye makeup, Willow offered a more girly perspective than we would expect from her urban-cool style in this sheer tulle gown juxtaposed with a tuxedo vest.
