2017 MTV EMAs Red Carpet Roundup

While many will still be talking about Rita Ora’s double bathrobe moment at the 2017 MTV EMAs on Sunday (November 12) in London, there were plenty of other daring looks to likewise borrow some of the spotlight.

Leomie Anderson: I love how the model looked to vintage Vivienne Westwood inspiration in this Fall 1994 look. Her high ponytail and combat boots added another layer of sassy edge to the look that had plenty of modern edge.

Demi Lovato: Proving that plaid and a paper-bag waist can somehow maintain a sexy appeal, Demi worked the proportions of this Styland suit to her advantage. Giuseppe Zanotti plafforms were clearly necessary given the length of the pants, with Messika jewelry rounding out the look. If the super-long extensions get a pass, it’s only because of this being a MTV occasion.

Tallia Storm: Her Topshop ‘Cosmic Star’ embellished slip dress offered an accessible interpretation on red-carpet dressing. I can easily see the socks and platforms being a sticking point, however, they did bring funky appeal, with an Alexander McQueen clutch for a bit of overt British flavour to finish the look.

Zoe Kazan In Christian Dior & Prada – ‘Call Me By Your Name’ AFI Fest Premiere & 9th Annual Governors Awards

Zoe Kazan was at the AFI Fest premiere of ‘Call Me By Your Name’ on Friday (November 10) before heading to the 9th Annual Governors Awards on Saturday (November 11), with both being held in Hollywood, California.

‘Call Me By Your Name’ Premiere: You may recognize the familiar Christian Dior bustier bodice of this Resort 2018 plisse frock. Stripped of its western, cowgirl influences, the short dress offered a playful, girly outlook with her Dior ‘La Belle D’ ankle-tie shoes echoing that mentality.

Natalie Portman In Christian Dior Couture – 31st American Cinematheque Awards Gala

Natalie Portman attended the American Cinematheque Awards Gala honoring Amy Adams on Friday (November 10) in Beverly Hills, California.

The actress was of course dressed in Dior Couture, selecting an anthracite silk gazar ballgown from the Fall 2017 Couture collection.

You can either long for something more from Natalie, or see the beauty in this feminine dress.

I’m going to stick my flag in the latter, while wishing the bust area was even and the dress was ankle length.

Kate Mara In Christian Dior – SAG-AFTRA Foundation Patron of the Artists Awards

Kate Mara attended the SAG-AFTRA Foundation Patron of the Artists Awards on Thursday (November 9) in Beverly Hills, California, with husband Jamie Bell.

I’d be hard pressed to pinpoint the exact time, but recently I have been falling deeper and deeper in love with Kate Mara’s style.

There’s such an ease, elegance and effortless about it all, as demonstrated in this Dior black silk chiffon tiered dress, sans logo panties and bra straps.

Adding some texture and sparkle to the look with a selection of white hair grips and a a Dior ‘Metamorphose Fleurie’ embroidered clutch, she proves that black and simple doesn’t have to equal boring.

2017 CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Awards Red Carpet Roundup

The stylish ladies were out in full force at the 2017 CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Awards on Monday (November 6) in Brooklyn, New York.

Sara Sampaio: The Portuguese model charmed in a J Mendel Resort 2018 mini. The short shape and blush colour were enlivened with feathered appliqués. The dusty neutral tones and simple styling allowed the texture to be appreciated without the bird connotations.

Karlie Kloss:
Striking a shimmering statement, the model donned a Christian Dior frock. The long sleeves and ankle-length hemline had a prim feel, but the geometric pattern and shimmering details added much allure.

Lauren Santo Domingo: Also in a feathered confection, the Moda Operandi cofounder was clad in Calvin Klein Fall 2017. Similar to Sara, the textured look had a sophisticated finish thanks to the blush-toned feathers but hers were accented with red and yellow. Given the lightness of the dress, I would have preferred a softer shoe without the black details. You may remember that Julianne Moore wore this same dress to the Met Gala.

Margot Robbie In Christian Dior – Deadline Contenders Festival

Margot Robbie joined Elizabeth Olsen for Deadline’s The Contenders event on Saturday (November 4) in LA.

Often preferring simple elegance and feminine sensuality, the actress offered up a new playful mood over the weekend in this Christian Dior Spring 2018 frock that I’m sure you remember was on the Red Carpet Wish List for Charlotte Le Bon.

Charlotte may have worn it as presented with the hat, but I also liked Margot’s pared-back presentation. Girlish and boyish at the same time, the look was imbued with undeniable charm.

I wasn’t such a fan of the striped socks on the runway, so I loved seeing her finish the ensemble with these black Nicholas Kirkwood pearl-accented derby shoes.
