Menswear Red Carpet Roundup

Menswear Red Carpet Roundup

Here is a roundup of some of the gentlemen putting their best foot forward on the red carpet on Monday (August 4) evening. You’ll be sad, or more likely happy, to know there were no further sightings of white linen suits.

Richard Armitage: The actor never fails to grab your attention while taking to the red carpet, and that was definitely the case at the ‘Into The Storm’ New York City premiere while decked out in a notched-lapel blue Burberry suit. The sharpness of the look was enhanced with a blue and red striped satin tie.

Kellan Lutz: The actor was in London last night for ‘The Expendables 3′ world premiere. I think this might just be the first time I have loved his red carpet look. This Dior Homme charcoal wool two-button notch-lapel suit fits his toned physique to perfection. Styled with a white cotton small-collar shirt and a black silk tie with a ‘Feel Real’ red and white motif, he completed the look with black leather derbies, a huge statement ring and an equally impressive timepiece.

Daniel Radcliffe: The British actor attended the ‘What If’ New York premiere wearing a Raf Simons dark-blue suit with a darker Calvin Klein shirt. Ippolita cufflinks and Christian Louboutin lace-up leather shoes rounded out his look.

Princess Eugenie In Burberry London – The Serpentine Gallery Summer Party

Princess Eugenie In Burberry London - The Serpentine Gallery Summer Party

Princess Eugenie attended the annual Serpentine Gallery Summer Party at The Serpentine Gallery on Tuesday (July 1) in London, England.

Wearing head-to-toe British designers, the young royal wore a Burberry London sky-blue lightweight crepe dress with a twisted back detail.

I can’t say I’m too crazy about the nude and white Nicholas Kirkwood peep-toes, but I do like how the studded clutch is in total contrast to the primness of her frock.

Serena Williams In Burberry – WTA Pre-Wimbledon Party

Serena Williams In Burberry - WTA Pre-Wimbledon Party

Serena Williams attended the WTA Pre-Wimbledon Party held at the Kensington Roof Gardens on Thursday (June 19) in London, England.

The tennis star donned a Burberry trench coat on the red carpet.

The classic-trench-with-a-twist courtesy of the ruffled tiers towards the hem appears to be have been worn as a dress because from the neckline she doesn’t appear to be wearing much else underneath.

Black accessories completed her look.

Best Dressed of The Week – Aishwarya Rai in Roberto Cavalli, Ryan Gosling in Gucci & James McAvoy in Burberry Tailoring

Best Dressed of The Week - Aishwarya Rai in Roberto Cavalli

I hope you all had a great Memorial and Bank Holiday weekend.

BDOTW was very hard this week, with several BDOTY contenders on this week’s list.

My finger hovered over Jessica Chastain in Atelier Versace, Aishwarya Rai in Roberto Cavalli, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley in Gucci Première and Sonam Kapoor in Anamika Khanna before settling on Aishwarya Rai.

Purely because the drama of the look was on another level – and by your votes it would appear you agree – plus, the dress still gives me goosebumps a week on, and it’s not often I can say that about a re-run.

When it came to the fellas our opinions differed. You went for Ryan Gosling in Gucci sans tie, whereas my heart said Channing Tatum, as always, but my head said James McAvoy in Burberry Tailoring.

Best Dressed Of The Week – Blake Lively In Gucci Premiere, Karolina Kurkova In Marchesa, Benedict Cumberbatch In Ralph Lauren & Douglas Booth In Burberry

BD1 12 May

There was just no separating Blake Lively and Karolina Kurkova this week.

Both taking 34% of your votes, they were neck and neck all weekend.

Blake swept you off your feet with her dazzling return to the red carpet in Gucci Premiere, while Karolina’s Marchesa sculpted strapless satin-organza gown was not only a thing of beauty but was also one of the very few looks which lived up to the theme. This was my favourite too.

2014 Met Gala Menswear Roundup

Met Gala Men 1The dress code at the 2014 Met Ball, themed ‘Charles James: Beyond Fashion’ was “white tie,” which meant the guys were on their best glam behavior—at least most of them. Tuxes were spotted at every turn among the handsome hunks on the red carpet at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City on Monday (May 5). It takes a lot of sartorial strength to stand up to the rush of bustling, bold gowns that punctuate the evening, but let’s hear it for the men who made it work.

David Beckham: This hot topic was hotter than ever in a crisp, cool Ralph Lauren Black Label white shawl collar tuxedo jacket, black bow tie and black tuxedo pant. This is the way to rock formal wear, without a hit of fussiness. Swooning yet?

Douglas Booth
: The British actor took a regally traditional route, but put a refreshingly modern spin on his head-to-toe Burberry outing. He was positively dashing in a black tailcoat and dress trousers, worn with a white waistcoat, wing collar bib-front shirt, white bow tie and black loafers.

Andrew Garfield
: “The Amazing Spider-Man 2’ star looked sharp in silver, dressed in a Band of Outsiders metallic blazer with contrasting black shawl collar, paired with a white shirt, black bow tie and black tuxedo trousers. I love the touch of metal here.
