Lizzy Caplan In Alberta Ferretti – Late Show With David Letterman

Lizzy Caplan In Alberta Ferretti - Late Show With David Letterman

Lizzy Caplan made a guest appearance on the ‘Late Show with David Letterman’, held at Ed Sullivan Theater in New York City yesterday evening.

Following Eva Longoria’s summer look, this puts me firmly back in a Fall-loving mood, with her rich velvet cobalt-blue Alberta Ferretti Fall 2013 long-sleeved velvet dress.

Tonal floral embroidery and a panel-seamed A-line skirt with floral-embroidered clusters and on-seam side pockets enrich this beautiful dress, as do her Christian Louboutin ‘Love Me’ bow-front heels and rouge lips.

Metropolitan Opera Season Opening Production Of ‘Eugene Onegin’ Red Carpet Roundup

Metropolitan Opera Season Opening Production Of ‘Eugene Onegin’ Red Carpet Roundup

While the 2013 Emmy Award trophies were trending in Los Angeles, California, a host of stars came out to walk another red carpet across the States in New York City for The Metropolitan Opera’s season opening production of ‘Eugene Onegin’ on Sunday.

Coco Rocha: The model was appropriately striking and statuesque, as she strutted out a Greta Constantine midnight-blue gown. The architectural silhouette, intricate folded detailing, mock peplum waist and shoulder cutouts all had me at hello. An exaggerated, winged cat eye and bright coral pout brought even more drama.

Mischa Barton: Putting a sophisticated foot forward, the actress wore a Valentina Kova robe dress, punched through with a bold, cerulean blue waistband. A thigh-high slit showed off her black Walter Steiger pumps, which couldn’t help but be outdone by that over-the-top feather clutch. She opted for the no-makeup look, but a bold lip may have been beneficial here.

Patricia Clarkson: The flame-haired actress sparkled in a Philosophy Fall 2013 black gown, accented with an appropriate plunge neckline and a shower of glittering embellishment at the waist.

Alexandra Roach In Alberta Ferretti – ‘One Chance’ Toronto Film Festival Premiere

Alexandra Roach In Alberta Ferretti - 'One Chance' Toronto Film Festival Premiere

Alexandra Roach attended the ‘One Chance’ premiere during the 2013 Toronto International Film Festival held at the Winter Garden Theatre yesterday evening in Toronto, Canada.

The Welsh actress, who played the young Margaret Thatcher in ‘The Iron Lady’, wore an Alberta Ferretti white crepe jacket with a black velvet bow and scalloped high-low hem, which was paired with a black, siren Mikado silk skirt from the Fall 2013 collection.

My issues with this look are two-fold.

Firstly, the skirt needed to sit higher up to prevent her belly showing and secondly, this dress was worn exactly two weeks ago by Clotilde Courau during Venice Film Festival.

It’s strange (baffling) how it can be loaned out again so quickly when worn by someone so high profile.

My reaction to this is, why was there no plan B?

Diane Kruger In Alberta Ferretti – Jaeger-LeCoultre Gala Dinner

Diane Kruger In Alberta Ferretti - Jaeger-LeCoultre Gala Dinner

After arriving in Venice earlier in the day, Diane Kruger attended the Jaeger-LeCoultre Gala Dinner celebrating its 180th anniversary at Teatro La Fenice in Venice, Italy yesterday evening.

As the face of the brand, the actress of course wore a classic Jaeger-LeCoultre timepiece with her deep-purple Alberta Ferretti Fall 2013 three-quarter-sleeved velvet gown – which is the strongest signal yet that summer is coming to an end.

I don’t remember the last time I saw Diane wear such a dark colour. I would’ve said this gown was perfect for a brunette, but Diane proves me wrong. She really got into the spirit of the look by matching her dark manicure to her gown.

I’m sure you’re glad Diane didn’t follow Sarah Gadon’s lead by matching her lip colour to her dress; instead Diane opted for a shimmering pink lip colour, wearing her hair back to showcase her stunning star drop H. Stern earrings.

Venice Film Festival Weekend Round Up

Venice Film Festival Weekend Round Up

Here is a quick roundup of some of the other looks which graced the red carpet during the 2013 Venice Film Festival this weekend.

Vanessa Hessler: The actress attended the ‘Premio Kineo’ red carpet event wearing a Zuhair Murad nude and black-netted gown which should be familiar to you. That’s because Lily Collins wore the shorter version of this dress last week during her promo tour. The dramatic piece was simply styled with complementary black accessories.

Anna Safroncik: The Ukrainian actress shimmered in an ocean-blue Alberta Ferretti Spring 2013 chiffon-and-lamé gown, with an illusion panel which doesn’t create much of an illusion around the neckline ruining the overall effect.

Maria Roveran: The actress could’ve worn just the LBD from Moga e Mago’s Fall 2013 collection but she saw the designers’ vision through by wearing the gold-studded leather sleeves, which she completed with a futuristic Kzeniya gold clutch.

Sophie Kennedy Clark: The Scottish actress gave this striped Stella McCartney jumpsuit its third red carpet outing following Jennifer Lawrence and Rila Fukushima. As this is her second Stella McCartney look of this festival, it appears she has a good relationship with the brand to have had a wide range of looks to select from, so with that in mind I’m a bit disappointed to see this look for a third time. On the plus side, she wore it better than Jennifer Lawrence with her styling. But Rila is still my overall favourite in this look, putting the ‘F’ into fierce.

Moran Atias’ Venice Film Festival Red Carpet Looks

Moran Atias' Venice Film Festival Red Carpet Looks

Moran Atias has had a busy two days attending various events during Venice Film Festival, where she has mostly worn Dolce & Gabbana.

Arrival: She arrived in fine style wearing a Dolce & Gabbana baby-blue lace long-sleeved crew-neck dress, which she styled with a matching Dolce & Gabbana tote and, rather oddly, Dolce & Gabbana leopard-print ballet flats.

Uomo Vogue Cocktail Party: Opting for a warm-hued Alberta Ferretti brick-red felt sleeveless dress with embroidered details, she once again opted for flats, plus a black satin clutch. Better styling would’ve improved this look tremendously for me.

Terrazza Maserati:
For this event she finally donned heels, which instantly elevated her Dolce & Gabbana summery look consisting of a knit top and painterly floral skirt.

‘Gravity’ Premiere: Moran wore a dramatic black textured Dolce & Gabbana strapless frock with a rise-and-fall hemline and full skirt styled with black platform open-toe sandals, a fringed bag and opera gloves. I feel like the dress was dramatic enough without the gloves. In my opinion the only person who makes these gloves work on the red carpet is Dita von Teese.

Which look is your favourite?

For me it would’ve been the arrival look but the animal-print flats turned me off, so my choice is the summery Dolce & Gabbana look at Terrazza Maserati.
