Variety’s 2014 Power Of Women Event Red Carpet Roundup

Variety's 2014 Power Of Women Event Red Carpet Roundup

Here is a brief rundown of the rest of the attendees of Variety’s 2014 Power Of Women event held at the Beverly Wilshire Four Seasons Hotel on Friday (October 10) in Beverly Hills, California.

Viola Davis: Like Lizzy Caplan, the ‘The Help’ actress, who was honoured at the event for her work with ‘Hunger Is’, wore a mint-green dress. However, the styling of her Escada dress with an origami-pleated neckline was less desirable, with black platform pumps. Jacob & Co earrings completed her look.

Jane Fonda: Also honoured for her work for the ‘Georgia Campaign for Adolescent Power & Potential’, the actress was looking as regal as ever, still keeping up her run of all things trousered wearing a black open-neck jumpsuit.

Eva Longoria: Prior to hosting the ALMA Awards, the actress took to the red carpet at this event wearing a Cushnie et Ochs rich plum fitted dress with no cut outs, styled with Brian Atwood nude pumps and a satin Louboutin clutch in the same hue.

Viola Davis In Escada – 2014 Emmy Awards

Viola Davis In Escada - 2014 Emmy Awards

Viola Davis made a brilliant splash on the red carpet of the 2014 Emmy Awards on Monday (August 25) at the Nokia Theatre L.A. Live in Los Angeles, California.

Wearing a positively captivating shade of violet-blue, the actress stunned in an Escada Resort 2015 gown with a paillette-embellished, portrait neckline.

Furthering my affection for this look’s bold and beautiful colour story, she contrasted the blue with a deep ruby clutch, matching Sutra earrings and a red lip.

I am choosing to ignore that the bodice was a bit too snug.

Viola Davis In Escada – Oscars 2014

Viola Davis In Escada - Oscars 2014

Viola Davis attended the Oscars 2014, hosted today (March 2) at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, California.

One of the evening’s presenter, she was wore a striking emerald Escada gown, calling the green hue her ‘go-to colour’ when interviewed on the red carpet.

With an asymmetrical, structured bodice putting a modern spin on the ball-gown silhouette, the actress added sparkle with gemstone cuffs on each wrist and a glittery, cylindrical Jimmy Choo ‘Cosma’ clutch.

Retro finger waves, a smoky metallic eye and glossy nude lip contributed glamorous effect.

The jewel-toned hue was undeniably the most compelling part of her ensemble, even if the fabric may have been a bit unforgiving if the light wrinkling is any indication.

Viola Davis In Escada – 2013 Hollywood Film Awards

Viola Davis In Escada - 2013 Hollywood Film Awards

Viola Davis was also among the star-studded guest list at the 2013 Hollywood Film Awards, hosted on Monday night at The Beverly Hilton Hotel in California.

Similar to Lupita Nyong’o’s sunny entrance, Viola also opted for a shot of  colour, albeit a slightly more muted one.

Her marigold-yellow Escada frock was accented with figure-flattering, black geometric embellishment at the sides.

She styled the dress with nondescript black, ankle-strap sandals and more interesting Marina B jewels, including Art Deco-inspired pendant earrings, with a radiant fuchsia lip lacquer as the final flourish.

Viola Davis In Monique Lhuillier – 2013 SAG Awards

Viola Davis In Monique Lhuillier - 2013 SAG AwardsViola Davis brought a shock of color to the red carpet at the 2013 SAG Awards, hosted this evening at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, California.

Her Monique Lhuillier Spring 2013 gown was a turquoise dream with its flattering, slightly Grecian draping and the asymmetric one-shoulder detail that flowed into a long train at the back.

The color looked gorgeous on the red carpet and on Viola, who continues to rock her bold cropped haircut.

Jimmy Choo sandals, a Judith Leiber clutch and Cathy Waterman jewels, including a turquoise cuff and complementary coral pendant earrings, finished the look.

The only thing I would have changed in the dress is the lining, which wasn’t visible on the runway. On Viola, it ended mid-thigh and proved a distracting addition, as it peeked through the diaphanous chiffon layers.
