Coachella 2013

The Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, which kicked off this past weekend, is always a hotbed of eclectic, look-at-that ensembles, as the fest flaunts an anything-goes attitude that many stars are plenty keen to adopt. Cutoffs, crop tops and crochet all come out of the closet, and it’s the one time where even the most reprehensible faux-pas can get a free pass on the fairground—even if they shouldn’t.

Kristen Stewart: The most memorable part of this Kristen sighting was that she was arm-in-arm with her on-and-off boyfriend, Robert Pattinson. Her T-shirt, too-short shorts and Converse kicks were a complete yawn and paled in comparison to Coachella’s other cool and crazy looks. Of course, she would probably say she’s just there for the music not the photo op.

Solange Knowles: The singer continued her love affair with colour and print in this bubblegum-pink Hawaiian floral skirt and melon-orange CC Skye box clutch. Here, though, her go-to style didn’t work so well. The slit was too high, and her white Stuart Weitzman sandals were far too mumsy. She just looked uncomfortable.

Bella Thorne: The up-and-coming starlet really was the flower-child of the fest with her tiara of blooms worn atop her long auburn strands. At only 15, she can get away with shredded denim, a mesh shirt and sneakers, and still look charming.

Michael Kors and the United Nations World Food Programme Dinner

Michael Kors hosted a dinner in honour of Halle Berry as she joins the designer and the United Nations World Food Programme to help fight world hunger; the dinner was held at the Pool Room at the Four Seasons on Saturday in New York City.

Halle Berry: As the guest of honour, Halle stuck to her tried and tested LBD, plunging-neckline formula, wearing a paillette-strap sheath dress from the designer’s Fall 2013 collection. Black ‘Mikaela’ Spring 2013 sandals and the Michael Kors ‘Hunger Stop’ campaign watch, which I’m sure will be a best seller, completed her look.

Solange Knowles: The singer delights, wearing the turquoise-and-optic-white cloud-print skinny pants I have been crushing on since they took to the runway last September during the Spring 2013 collection. Her sleek look also featured a black tuxedo jacket and a white blouse, which she styled with black sandals, a clear Alice + Olivia ‘Lucite’ box clutch and a hot-pink lip colour which deepens my girl crush… if that is at all possible.

Doutzen Kroes: The model wore a navy-and-crimson cropped crewneck sweater and matching box-pleated skirt from the Spring 2013 collection, which we’ve seen on the red carpet once before courtesy of Cat Deeley. Like Cat, Doutzen kept her styling simple with a black clutch and black sandals.

Hilary Rhoda: Also opting for stripes from the Spring 2013 collection, the model styled her black-and-green striped top and pleated sequin skirt with gold Michael Kors ‘Mikaela’ sandals which matched her box clutch. I love how she opted for gold accessories when the others here had selected black.
Solange and Hilary stand out for me. Who do you love here?

Solange Knowles In Theyskens’ Theory & Edun – DIESEL + EDUN Studio Africa Event

Solange Knowles attended the DIESEL + EDUN Studio Africa event held at Ron Herman Melrose in Los Angeles, California on Saturday evening, where she also performed.

Opting not to mix prints on this occasion, the singer wore a simple white long-sleeved Theyskens’ Theory ‘Pique Belcor’ blouse with printed Edun shorts from the brand’s Spring 2013 collection.

Going bold with her accessories, she carried a CC Skye ‘Bright Love Lucite’ clutch with a neon-orange front panel, which matched her mani-pedi, plus she rocked a pair of bright-yellow sandals.

Solange’s lip colour of choice has been red for her last few red carpet appearances, but on this occasion, to complement her accessories, she opted for orange.

Solange Knowles In Clover Canyon – Spin Magazine Party @ SXSW Festival

Solange Knowles took to the stage once again during day 8 of the SXSW Music, Film + Interactive Festival in Austin, Texas for the Spin Magazine party.

On this occasion she wore a Clover Canyon suit from the Spring 2013 collection with a Marni Spring 2013 Edition top.

The summery apricot colours complement her skin-tone well even with contrasting bold red lip colour.

Opting for one set of prints her Marni high-neck top features a black-and-white bird print while her Clover Canyon suit fully embellished with dazzling rhinestones.

Sexy Kirkwood heels provided the finishing touches.

I love both of Solange’s looks from the weekend, however, if you asked me to pick a favourite, I would pick the Mia Moretti for Pencey suit as would be more likely to wear that look.

Solange Knowles In Mia Moretti for Pencey – Fader Fort

On Thursday Solange Knowles performed onstage at Fader Fort during day 7 of the SXSW Music, Film + Interactive Festival in Austin, Texas.

The singer wore a jungle-print Mia Moretti for Pencey Spring 2013 suit.

Known for mixing prints the rest of her look was paired with neutral solids including a white blouse and blush coloured Stuart Weitzman ‘Theone’ sandals.

The eagle eyed amongst you would’ve notice that her signature ‘fro is not as voluminous as it was on her last outing.

Solange Knowles In Marni Edition – Verizon Wireless and Nokia Live Event

Austin, Texas seems to be the place to be this week with the film festival taking place in the city, but Solange Knowles was there attending the Verizon Wireless and Nokia Live event.
The singer/DJ wore one of her favourite labels: Marni.

She mixed up her Edition 2013 look by wearing a mocha polka-dotted blazer and blue polka-dotted shirt from the Winter Edition with a green pleated skirt from the Spring Edition. They could easily be from the same collection; she has mixed the pieces flawlessly.

I have conceded that the white shoe trend appears to be here to stay. Especially as these appear to be her shoe colour of choice at the moment.

Keeping her signature hair and red lippie intact, she completed her look with a gold mirrored clutch.
