Needs A Style Do Over For 2015 – Rita Ora

Needs A Style Do Over For 2015

No better proof that Rita Ora is in desperate need of a style do-over in 2015 than her, ahem, creative and rather comical collection of looks over the past year that have likewise drawn a constant comparison to Rihanna.

Taken outfit by outfit, they are perhaps more digestible albeit no less excusable. But when stacked one right against the next, it’s clear just how far gone the British songstress’s application of tasteful style really is.

Just the very foursome of looks pictured here is a visual assault of magnificent proportions. I simply don’t know what’s worse—the bandanas and blue hair, the Ulyanka Sergeenko black velvet bodysuit, complete with thigh-high boots, at Z100’s Jingle Ball, the Fausto Puglisi sweatshirt and slit-up skirt at the KIIS FM Jingle Ball, or the Marchesa chiffon jumpsuit with a mystery ’do.

On some level, I think we all can appreciate her provocative, no-fear approach to fashion and beauty. And, on the rare occasion, she does teeter on tasteful, cool-girl territory.

But, all too often, she falls back to looks that are nothing short of tragique. She can do so much better in carving out her own unique style voice that’s bold and edgy without being brash and obnoxious.

Until then, though, hide your eyes.

Rita Ora In Sportmax – 103.5 KISS FM’s Jingle Ball 2014

Rita Ora In Sportmax - 1035 KISS FM's Jingle Ball 2014

Rita Ora took to the red carpet prior to her performance at 103.5 KISS FM’s Jingle Ball on Thursday (December 18) in Chicago, Illinois.

After a succession of looks which have left you very much unconvinced with regards to her style credentials does Rita Ora turn a corner with this Sportmax Fall 2014 look?

Personally I really like this look which consists of a simple draped top and python red, black and white paneled skirt styled with a gold beaded choker, bracelets and nude Stuart Weitzman ‘Nudist’ sandals.

Without a hint of try hard it’s chic with an edge.

With no attention grabbing antics or ability to attest this look as a copy from someone else does this look work for you?

Rita Ora In Miu Miu – National Building Museum

Rita Ora In Miu Miu - National Building Museum

Rita Ora was spotted leaving the National Building Museum in Washington DC on Sunday (December 14) following her TNT ‘Christmas In Washington 2014’ performance.

The British singer appeared to have just thrown together this getup, wearing a tri-colour fedora, white shirt, red shorts and maroon lace-up boots styled with a Miu Miu Fall 2014 tri-colour quilted coat.

I’m sure I don’t need to tell you that none of this works or goes together.

I would only save perhaps the hat from this mishmash of a look.

Rita Ora In Viktor & Rolf Couture – Hot 99.5’s Jingle Ball 2014

Rita Ora In Viktor & Rolf Couture - Hot 995's Jingle Ball 2014

Rita Ora took to the red carpet on Monday (December 15) prior to performing on stage at Hot 99.5’s Jingle Ball 2014 held at the Verizon Center in Washington, DC.

The singe wore a Viktor & Rolf Fall 2014 Couture red knot detailed dress styled with fishnet tights and bow front pumps.

The conceptual design ends up looking like a fancy bathrobe on Rita.

This should’ve perhaps been left for Lady Gaga.

At this point I have to wonder whether she on a one woman mission to claim WDOTY.

Rita Ora In Ralph & Russo Couture – TNT Christmas in Washington 2014

TNT Christmas In Washington 2014

Rita Ora attended TNT Christmas in Washington 2014 held at the National Building Museum on Sunday (December 14) in Washington DC.

Following the Jingle Ball look, Rita went in yet another direction, this time serving up a decidedly ladylike Ralph & Russo Fall 2014 Couture offering à la Dita Von Teese, equipped with the leather opera gloves, retro waves and ruby-red lips we would expect to see on the burlesque star.

Rita’s off-the-shoulder black-and-white-lined frock is divine. Ralph & Russo continue to out do themselves with red carpet hit after red carpet hit.

Classic in style yet contemporary in design, I love the addition of the red Paul Andrew peep-toes, which rounded out this look, complementing that ever present red lip.
