Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Rita Ora In Prada - Brit Awards 2014

Rita Ora looked stunning on the red carpet this evening (February 19) at the Brit Awards 2014 held at the O2 Arena in London.

Despite letting out a huge cheer for her lack of red lipstick, I’m also applauding her gorgeous bright yellow Prada plunging gown with the brands signature green rhinestones lining the frock.

A monumental improvement over the Marchesa gown from last night’s Elle Style Awards, it has to be said.

The colour is bold, the makeup much improved, the jewels perfectly OTT for the event; and even the hair isn’t so brash as it often can be.

Miuccia is on quite a roll. Pray it continues.

One of the best of the night. Do you agree?

Rita Ora In Marchesa - Elle Style Awards 2014

Rita Ora made a show-stopping appearance on the red carpet of the Elle Style Awards 2014 (February 18) held at One Embankment in central London this evening.

Wearing a white floor-length Marchesa Fall 2014 gown with an embroidered body and layered tulle skirt, Rita ensured all eyes were on her at the star-studded event.

While I like the fact she hasn’t opted for the runway inspired romantic styling and instead opted or a much modern, slicked back hair and bold lip pairing, I think the dress looks a little frumpy for the young star.

This is an awards ceremony celebrating the best style makers and designers so I think Rita should have chosen something much more daring and suited to her age. It’s a pretty dress but it would have been much more suited to something like the Oscars. Do you agree?

Rita Ora In Gucci - The Weinstein Company's Post-BAFTA Party

Rita Ora attended The Weinstein Co. post-BAFTA party held at the Rosewood London on Sunday (February 16) in London.

The singer donned a Gucci Spring 2014 black chiffon halter gown with a plunging neckline enriched with pink-hued embroideries.

I’m not a fan of this look on Rita. She doesn’t quite have the height to pull off this dress; the lip, as on most occasions, doesn’t work; and she over-accessorized the look.

You may remember that Rosie Huntington-Whiteley wore this to the LACMA Art + Film Gala last year.

The majority weren’t too crazy about it on the statuesque model, so I’m guessing that this look gets a resounding thumbs down on Rita.

Rita Ora In Stella McCartney - Heathrow Airport

After rubbing shoulders with the likes of Katie Holmes during New York Fashion Week, Rita Ora was spotted back home in London earlier today (February 12) as she arrived at Heathrow airport.

The British singer was seen without her trademark red lip (hurrah), donning a Stella McCartney Pre-Fall 2014 look consisting of a face-print ‘Melton Fortune’ coat, black turtleneck and black trousers with a white stripe.

Perhaps inspired by Jared Leto’s recent red carpet look, she worked a black fedora, completing her look with black Saint Laurent ‘Wyatt’ chained boots.

Do you like this look or are you just happy she’s not wearing red lips here?

Donna Karan Fall 2014 Front Row

Donna Karan, celebrating 30 years in the industry, had a star-studded front row at its New York Fashion Week show, including Rita Ora and Katie Holmes.

Kate Holmes: The actress wore a sexy Donna Karan look, donning a black halter-neck-style leather top nipped in at the waist, and a long pleated on-trend sheer skirt for the evening show. Tousled waves and soft makeup in nude hues rounded out her look. For me, it’s been a very long while since she looked this good.

Rita Ora: The British singer, and star of DKNY’s current ad campaign, took her brand of sexy down a very obvious route, wearing a Donna Karan black sheer-sleeved dress with a plunging neckline and gathered waist. Of course, the red lip was present, with black smoky eyes and sleek tresses. A selection of gold chains to complement her sandals accessorized her look.

Rita Ora In Vionnet - Jay-Z’s Pre Grammy Party

Rita Ora and Calvin Harris were seen headed to 1 Oak nightclub for Jay-Z’s pre-Grammy Party in West Hollywood, California, which was also attended by Rihanna.

While Calvin looked very handsome in all black, Rita was feeling blue, wearing a Vionnet navy silk tuxedo dress over a black asymmetrical bodysuit with navy tulle detailing from the Spring 2014 collection, which she styled with a selection of gold jewels, a Salvatore Ferragamo navy-satin and plexiglass minaudière with a silver-metal frame, and python strappy sandals.

Having not been a fan of her Lanvin Grammys look, this look is much preferred.

A slicked-back bun and, of course, that ever-present red lip rounded out her look.

Rita Ora In Lanvin - 2014 Grammy Awards

Rita Ora shone brightly at the 2014 Grammy Awards, hosted on Sunday (January 26) at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California.

The British songstress skipped the long-gown look in favour of an absinthe-green, woven metallic number with lavender undertones from the Lanvin Spring 2014 collection. While it did suffer from some unfortunate creases, the feisty little, long-sleeve dress was high-shine and high-impact.

Adding a layer of fun whimsy to the exuberant frock, she wore Lorraine Schwarz jewels and flaunted a constellation of door-knocker, cocktail rings on nearly every finger, alongside a candy-land of nail lacquers in practically every shade of the rainbow.

A gleaming, Jimmy Choo ‘Cloud’ clutch also made an appearance.

Her glitzy ensemble was the power player here, but what really captured my attention was Rita’s beauty look. Taking a more subdued approach, she was gorgeous with her blonde, Hollywood-glam waves, along with a lilac-tinged smoky eye, which picked up the undertones of her dress, and petal-pink lip (no red here!).
