Michelle Obama In Tracy Reese – ‘Let Freedom Ring’ Ceremony

Michelle Obama In Tracy Reese - 'Let Freedom Ring' Ceremony

Michelle Obama put her fashionable foot forward while attending the ‘Let Freedom Ring’ ceremony for the 50th anniversary celebration of Martin Luther King’s ‘March on Washington’ earlier today in Washington D.C.

As always, she lifted my heart and sent me to fashion heaven, wearing a Tracy Reese Fall 2013 dress.

I love that not only did she make a stylish style statement wearing a black-and-red floral-motif frock with a figure-flattering fit-and-flare silhouette, but also that she wore an African-American designer to commemorate this momentous occasion.

Obsessed with this look. Needless to say.

Michelle Obama In Prabal Gurung – 2013 Arthur Ashe Kids Day

Michelle Obama In Prabal Gurung - 2013 Arthur Ashe Kids Day

Michelle Obama attended the 2013 Arthur Ashe Kids Day held at USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center on Saturday in Queens, New York ahead of the US Open which starts on Monday.

The First Lady used the event to promote active lifestyles and eating healthy meals for kids, as part of a national campaign she’s leading.

As we are having such bad weather this side of the pond, Michelle’s summery look lifts my mood.

She turned to one of her favourite designers Prabal Gurung; selecting a yellow, navy, light-grey and white tropical print sleeveless peplum top from the designers Resort 2013 collection.

Wide-leg pants, comfortable silver flats and hooped earrings completed her look.

Michelle Obama In Carolina Herrera – Charlottenburg Palace Berlin Dinner

Michelle Obama In Carolina Herrera - Charlottenburg Palace Dinner

First Lady Michelle Obama, President Barack Obama and German Chancellor Angela Merkel attended the dinner given in honour of the President at the Orangerie of Schloss Charlottenburg palace in Berlin, Germany this evening.

Obama is visiting Berlin for the first time during his presidency and his speech at the Brandenburg Gate is set to be the highlight. Obama will be speaking close to the 50th anniversary of the historic speech by then U.S. President John F. Kennedy in Berlin in 1963, during which he proclaimed the famous sentence: ‘Ich bin ein Berliner.’

Michelle wore a Carolina Herrera Pre-Fall 2013 dress for the occasion.

The sleeveless wave pattern jacquard party dress featuring grosgrain bow accented straps, a high squared neck, a drop waist; and pleating at the skirt was styled with black kitten heels.

I have loved a lot of Michelle red carpet choices; however, I’m on the fence with this one.

It’s the bows which given me a feeling that this dress may have been better suited to the likes of Camilla Belle, Emmy Rossum or Kiernan Shipka.

She would’ve looked better in the sheath version of this dress – sans bows.

Michelle Obama In Burberry Prorsum – Aldergrove International Airport

Michelle Obama In Burberry - Belfast International Airport

The Obamas flew into Northern Ireland earlier today on Barack Obama’s first official visit to the country ahead of the G8 summit.

Clearly getting a heads up on our sunless summer, Michelle Obama disembarked Air Force One wearing a Burberry Prorsum Spring 2013 trench coat.

The classic trench with heritage detailing shielded her against the elements in style; however, I’m not sure about corset detail around the waist – the mahogany belt which matched her straight-leg pants would have sufficed.

Glad to still see her rocking her bangs, which could’ve kick-started a celebrity trend.

Michelle Obama In Monique Lhuillier – 2013 White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner

US-POLITICS-ENTERTAINMENT-WHCA-DINNER

First Lady of the United States Michelle Obama showed us again that she’s also a first lady of style, as she shared a laugh with host, Conan O’Brien, at the 2013 White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner in Washington D.C. last night.

Even though we can only see the upper half of her Monique Lhuillier goddess-like confection, it’s not difficult to see she was one of the best-dressed of the evening.

The black fitted chiffon gown’s high neckline featured delicate Chantilly lace scattered with intricate jet-black stones that cascaded around her neck and shoulders.

So as not to compete with the embellishment of the dress, Michelle wore a classic updo, complete with her trendsetting bangs.

Michelle Obama In Prabal Gurung – St. John’s Episcopal Church

Obama in Prabal Gurung copy

Dressed in their Easter Sunday best, President Obama, Michelle Obama and their daughters, Sasha and Malia, attended an Easter service yesterday at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Washington, D.C.

The family were captured making the short walk from the White House across Lafayette Park to St. John’s, known as the “Church of the Presidents”.

Even though Barack wore a dapper grey suit, and Sasha caught my eye in her cute bi-colour dress and checked cardigan, my focus was on Mrs O.

The First Lady wore a Prabal Gurung Spring 2010 dress, which she first wore back in 2010 at the Smithsonian debut of her Jason Wu inaugural gown.

Her light-grey dress, which features a brush-painted rose print, was styled with a chic coat from the same collection, which also featured the same print on the back, and grey kitten heels.

You’ll remember that her bangs have made headline news, and after seeing her here I’m once again considering this hairstyle for myself.
