Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Jessica Chastain was front row during Armani Prive for Spring 2012 Couture Fashion Week back in January and it looks like she was also there to shoot her W magazine editorial for the May 2012 issue.

Her stunning beauty comes to life in this artistic Couture editorial shot by Paolo Roversi and styled by Edward Enninful wearing Valentino, Armani Prive, Christian Dior, Giambattista Valli, Jean Paul Gaultier, Chanel, Givenchy and Atelier Versace.

Some of you weren’t that blown away by her red-carpet run in the lead up to the Oscars, so how do you feel about this high-fashion editorial?

Jessica Chastain promoted many movies last year, but she was mostly nominated for her role in, ‘The Help’ during awards season.

Despite baffling us by not being seen carrying a clutch once during on the red carpet, she did have some great looks.

My favourite was her McQueen followed by the black Balenciaga.

Jessica Chastain has been one to watch on the red carpet over the past few months.

Between the highs and the lows, Jessica has yet to define a ‘signature style’ like her ‘The Help’ co-stars, Octavia Spencer and Emma Stone.

For the 2012 Oscars, held in Hollywood this evening, Jessica went completely regal in a black strapless Alexander McQueen gown.

Her silk organza corset gown embroidered with gold bullion and metal thread was custom-made by Sarah Burton who was inspired by nature to create this look.

This is one of the most daring looks we’ve seen tonight, and I am so impressed with Jessica for taking such a risk.

Of course, she didn’t take the biggest risk of all – carrying a clutch on the carpet.

I’m not sure Jessica Chastain got the dress code memo for the 2012 Independent Spirit Awards, held on Saturday evening in Santa Monica, California.

Instead of going for a relaxed look like the other attendees at this beachside event, she wore an Armani Privé Spring 2012 skirt suit.

The black suit with lime piping feels way too formal.

It would’ve been great for a photocall or press conference, but I’m not excited about it on this occasion.

A simple updo and black strappy sandals completed her look.

Jessica Chastain joined Vanessa Hudgens on the red carpet for the 5th Annual Women in Film Pre-Oscar Cocktail Party in LA last night.

After disappointing us on her last outing, the actress opted for an Elie Saab Spring 2011 dress on this occasion.

Her pink three quarter sleeve crepe cocktail dress was an improvement, but I’m not crazy about the pumps.

From the ankles up, stunning.

With so many events happening yesterday evening, Jessica Chastain opted to attend The Hollywood Reporter’s ‘Nominees’ Night 2012′ which was a celebration of the 84th Annual Academy Awards, held Getty House in LA.

It has taken us a while to warm to Jessica’s red carpet style, but in the lead up to the Oscars she appears to be stepping out of her comfort zone.

This week we’ve already seen her wearing a daring Alexander McQueen look and her best look to date; Elie Saab.

On this occasion I’m not so enamoured, as I find her Vivienne Westwood dress highly unflattering.

The colour is gorgeous, but the dress makes her look thicker around the waist and the draped sleeve looks sloppy.

Casadei silver sandals and a spiralled updo completed her look.
