Menswear Red Carpet Roundup

Breaking from the ladies, we are taking a look at what the men have been wearing on the red carpet lately.

Robert Pattinson: The Dior Homme ambassador was dressed in the label for the ‘Good Time’ London Film Festival screening on Thursday (October 5). The charcoal grey colour palette and sleek lines of the suit became the focal point as there were no superfluous elements to distract us. The classic white shirt and skinny tie offered a harmonious finish.

JR: The French photographer opted for a statement-making jacket at the MOMA Special Screening of ‘Faces Places’ on Wednesday (October 4) in New York. The Gucci Pre-Fall 2017 suit jacket was decorated with fantastical green dragons across the chest. JR truly made the ensemble his own by accessorising with white sneakers, coordinating sunglasses and a dark hat.

Charlie Plummer: Also in Dior Homme, the young actor attended the ‘Lean on Pete’ London Film Festival premiere on Thursday (October 5). The sharply cut navy suit was enhanced with a crisp white shirt and soft blue tie. If his smile and casual pose are any indication, he clearly feels comfortable in the dashing two-button suit.

Garrett Hedlund In Prada – ‘Mudbound’ London Film Festival Premiere

Garrett Hedlund joined Carey Mulligan and Mary J. Blige for the premiere of ‘Mudbound’ during the London Film Festival this evening (October 5).

Like Winston Duke, Garrett surprised us all with a light-coloured suit in October, however, this pale-blue suit hails from Prada’s Fall 2017 collection.

I love how the colour gives this double breasted set a contemporary flair along with the striped shirt and checked tie combo.

Are you pleased to see Garrett take a break from the norm?

Menswear Red Carpet Roundup

Here, a look at what the men have been up to on the red carpet lately.

Andrew Garfield: Joining Claire Foy for the ‘Breathe’ premiere at the BFI London Film Festival on Wednesday (October 4), Andrew couldn’t have looked more dapper if he tried in this Tom Ford tuxedo. There’s just something about the classic refinement of a tailored-to-perfection tux that gets me every time.

Winston Duke: The actor also made the honourable list of People’s ‘Ones To Watch,’ where he joined Paris Jackson for the celebration in LA on Wednesday (October 4). With this Hugo Boss suit and pops of burnt-orange accessories, he proved his style is something to look out for, too.

Jake Gyllenhaal: Jake has been making waves as the handsome new face of Eternity by Calvin Klein, but on Tuesday (October 3), he brought his eternally fine form to the ‘Stronger’ premiere during the 13th Zurich Film Festival. This Gucci midnight-navy suit checked the box—and blue is most certainly his colour—but I would have loved to see him push the envelope just a bit more.

Jared Leto In Gucci – Blade Runner 2049 Mexico Photocall

As Jared Leto has worn Gucci his last three times out this month, I was pretty certain the trend might continue at the recent ‘Blade Runner 2049’ Mexico photocall. And it did.

Florals again permeated his latest Gucci look, as he borrowed from the girls with this top that riffed on the PJs trend.

Given his tendency to go to sartorial extremes, I was a bit surprised he didn’t wear the floral pants, too, instead opting for red track pants.

Barring the neon-orange-accented sneakers, which were a bit clunky with the look, this was actually a more casually subdued offering from Jared—even if it could look as if he’s half-dressed for bed and for the gym.

Harry Styles In Gucci – 2017 iHeartRadio Music Festival

Before taking the stage at the 2017 iHeartRadio Music Festival, Harry Styles was on the red carpet on Friday (September 22) in Las Vegas.

As the singer has never met a statement suit he didn’t love, he hopped aboard the Gucci crazy-pattern bandwagon with this latest ensemble that we could easily see Jared Leto borrowing.

I saw this look first on stage, where the black-and-red diamond motif and pussy-bow blouse made a lot more sense to me as a performance piece.

Here, I have a feeling that there will be a number of ‘court jester’ comparisons made.

Front Row @ Versace Spring 2018

Many expected the front row of Versace’s Spring 2018 show to be celeb heavy, but tonight was all about celebrating an icon, so only a trios of stars were front and center.

I was very excited to be seated behind them.

Amber Valleta: I’m sure you’re thinking this tuxedo dress was a bit of a snooze, but this picture doesn’t tell the true story as the party was at the back. The open back was accented with chains for a true rock n’ roll Versace touch.

Charlene, Princess of Monaco: I have never been in the presence of royalty, so this was quite an honour. I was immediately captivated by how statuesque Charlene was. And even more so by her graceful manor and calming presence when the room felt so hectic. There was no diluting the spirit of Versace in this look, her highness perfected her ode to 80s Versace in a cut-out chainmail dress and biker jacket accented with silver medusa’s.

Lewis Hamilton: Now, it was 24 degree today – warmer in the venue – and Lewis was wearing a wool coat, cashmere sweater and leather trousers – not too dissimilar from those he wears on the racetrack. As a fellow weather cautious Brit who also travelled to Milan in leather jacket, I won’t judge Lewis too harshly, but you won’t be surprised to learn that after this picture he was quick to ditch the coat. His assistant/stylist shared that she pulled the look as she wanted something unique that no one else would’ve been wearing, before we shared a joke that sometimes you just have to suffer for a short period for fashion. Good to know that men share this sentiment too.
