Dan Stevens In Thom Sweeney – ‘The Guest’ & ‘A Walk Among The Tombstones’ New York Premieres

Dan Stevens In Thom Sweeney - 'The Guest' & 'A Walk Among The Tombstones' New York Premieres

If you thought Dan Stevens was going to disappear into obscurity following his departure from ‘Downton Abbey’, you couldn’t have been more wrong as the actor is so in demand he is currently promoting two of his latest projects.

‘The Guest’ New York Premiere: On Tuesday (September 16) he wore a Thom Sweeney grey windowpane-check double-breasted suit. What I love about double-breasted suits is that they are made for men, not boys. From its chest-accentuating, waist-slimming silhouette to its association with Wall Street power brokers and gangsters, double-breasted tailoring is uncompromisingly masculine. Opting to go sans tie, with tan Christian Louboutin ‘Trepeter’ flats and a white checked pocket square rounding out his look, he solidifies his best-dressed status.

‘A Walk Among The Tombstones’ New York Premiere: Back on the red carpet for the second night in a row last night (September 17), the actor opted for a moody shade of midnight-blue, donning a three-piece Thom Sweeney suit, once again opting to go sans tie. Perhaps the look would’ve felt like something was missing had it not been for the contrasting button detailing on the shirt.

Both looks are impeccably tailored, fit to perfection and showcase that he’s capable of working several styles.

I have to go with the second look; I’m totally entranced by the colour, the sheen and the way it brings out his baby blues.

Which look do you favour?

Daniel Radcliffe In Dunhill – ‘Horns’ Paris Premiere

Daniel Radcliffe In Dunhill - 'Horns' Paris Premiere

Daniel Radcliffe attended the ‘Horns’ premiere held at Cinema Gaumont Marignan on Monday (September 16) in Paris, France.

The British actor always presents himself very well on the red carpet and this dove-grey Dunhill Made to Measure Belgravia suit is no exception; the sharply tailored suit is cut from a wool and cashmere-blend cloth with a fine Prince of Wales check for a dapper, refined look.

I love the contemporary feel of this slim-fit suit, which Daniel styled with a navy shirt and navy lace-up shoes.

Menswear Red Carpet Roundup

Here is a quick roundup of some guys taking to the red carpet recently.

Ryan Reynolds: Blake Lively’s hubby was looking very sharp at the Toronto Film Festival premiere of his latest movie ‘The Voices’ on Thursday (September 11), where he joined his Miu Miu clad co-star Anna Kendrick. The actor wore a steely navy-blue head-to-toe Brunello Cucinelli look, opting to go sans tie and buttoning down his shirt. Even as someone who is not a huge fan of beards, I have to say this look is very distinguished on him.

Benjamin McKenzie: The actor joined Jada Pinkett Smith on the red carpet for the ‘Gotham’ premiere last night (September 15) wearing a Dior Homme dark-grey suit styled with a spotted tie with Jimmy Choo shoes and a Mont Blanc watch and tie-bar pin.

Josh Hutcherson: Opting for a classic Dior Homme black wool two-button peak-lapel suit, white cotton shirt, black silk tie, and black leather derbies to the ‘Escobar: Paradise Lost’ Toronto Film Festival premiere, the blazer doesn’t appear to fit too well. Perhaps he should’ve left it unbuttoned.

Menswear Red Carpet Roundup

Here is a quick look at the dapper gents attending New York and Toronto Film Festival premieres this week.

Douglas Booth: The handsome continues to prove why we often hand him a best dressed title each time he steps out on the red carpet. With navy being the colour of the moment in menswear, the actor sets his own pace opting for a green Dolce & Gabbana three-piece suit styled with an Armani timepiece to the ‘Riot Club’ Toronto Film Festival premiere.

Rob Pattinson: The British actor was also staying true to his favourite brand: Gucci. I do love it when guys do something a bit different. Here Rob styles his navy notch-lapel two-button Marseille suit with a navy evening shirt and brown leather lace-ups while attending the Toronto International Film Festival premiere of ‘Maps Of The Stars’ on Tuesday (September 9). The colours couldn’t be more perfect as we slowly move towards autumn and the suit, as always, was a perfect fit. The usual dishevelment gave way to sleeker grooming, so this gets a thumbs up all round from me.

With Canada’s 2014 Toronto International Film Festival and New York City’s Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Spring 2015 in full swing, the men were out in force for a host of appearances over the past few days.

Andrew Garfield
: The actor attended the TIFF ’99 Homes’ premiere in a Burberry Tailoring three-piece charcoal suit with a traditional dark tie and dove-grey button-down. The suit was immaculate; the scruff was mountain man.

David Beckham: The soccer stud always cuts an impressive profile, and such was the case while he was out in New York City following wife Victoria Beckham’s Fashion Week show. He wore a black Dior Homme wool slim-shawl-collar tuxedo and white cotton shirt. The tux had nothing on him, as he looked every bit the cool customer with the relaxed fit and tie-less styling.

Eddie Redmayne In Alexander McQueen & Burberry – HFPA & InStyle’s 2014 TIFF Celebration & ‘Theory of Everything’ Toronto Film Festival Premiere

Eddie Redmayne In Alexander McQueen & Burberry - HFPA & InStyle's 2014 TIFF Celebration & 'Theory of Everything' Toronto Film Festival Premiere

Eddie Redmayne attended the HFPA & InStyle’s 2014 TIFF Celebration on September 6 and the premiere of the film ‘The Theory of Everything’ on September 7 at the 2014 Toronto International Film Festival in Toronto, Canada.

Party: An Alexander McQueen black and cream Prince of Wales check suit worn with a navy tie is a handsome, classic look, and the addition of the grey suede tassel slippers offers the perfect dash of fashion-forward whimsy.

Premiere: A teal, double-breasted Burberry Prorsum Spring 2014 suit with a navy tie and pocket square is a sharp color combination, and classic patent shoes complete the modern look. I love how much fun Eddie has with fashion–he knows fashion isn’t only a woman’s game.

A group of guys grabbed some stares recently with their sartorial statements at a variety of events. Here, a look at the handsome offerings over the past few days—I couldn’t be more elated to not see a basic black suit in sight.

Channing Tatum: Looking hot and polished, the actor was at the HFPA & InStyle’s 2014 TIFF celebration during the 2014 Toronto International Film Festival at the Windsor Arms Hotel. He definitely made that dark, midnight-blue three-piece suit look good.

Josh Lucas: Cutting a sharp profile at the ‘Boychoir’ premiere during the 2014 Toronto International Film Festival at Roy Thomson Hall, Josh suited up in a Salvatore Ferragamo dark navy, two-button peak lapel suit, paired with a white button-down shirt, a navy patterned pocket square and brown calf shoes. Here, his decision to go tie-less worked in his favour—as did this stunning blue hue.
