‘Black Panther’ Seoul Premiere Menswear Roundup

At the ‘Black Panther’ Seoul premiere on Monday (February 5), the men were back in action with some suave entrances whilst joining Lupita Nyong’o on the red carpet.

Chadwick Boseman: The actor yet again left me thoroughly impressed with this Dzojchen suit styled with David Yurman cufflinks and Christian Louboutin ‘Samson’ boots. The robe-tied jacket had a certain regal-relaxed appeal, but it was the graphic, all-over micro-print that really stood out.

Michael B. Jordan: Although this was an all-black ensemble, the Joseph Abboud Spring 2018 suit featured an intriguing tonal embossed pattern that offered a sleek, stylistic mood that was far from one-note—especially with those shiny Christian Louboutin ‘Alpha Male Chain’ shoes.

Ryan Coogler: Also going for a monochromatic effect, Ryan relied on the richness of velvet to elevate this Ports 1961 suit styled with Christian Louboutin shoes and David Yurman cufflinks.

Menswear Red Carpet Roundup

Here, the latest look at the guys who have caught our eye.

Armie Hammer: The actor was at the London Film Critics Circle Awards 2018 on Sunday (January 28), where he suited up in an Etro ensemble. I like the coloration of this green striped jacket, especially as it brought out his eyes.

John Legend: Does it get more dapper than this? I think not, as the singer debuted a dandy Gucci plaid suit in Soho, New York City on Tuesday (January 30). It was ever so stylized in all the right ways with the striped bow tie, colour-block tassel loafers, and bold sunglasses.

Timothée Chalamet: Joining Armie at the London Film Critics Circle Awards, the young actor kept his signature look going strong with the slim, cropped proportions of this Berluti suit and black T-shirt. This bold blue colour was striking on him.

‘Black Panther’ World Premiere Menswear Roundup

There were plenty of men in the mix at the star-studded world premiere of Marvel’s ‘Black Panther’ on Monday (January 29) in Hollywood, California.

Chadwick Boseman: He plays the title character in the film, and his Emporio Armani Spring 2018 look was indeed royal. I love the relaxed-regal approach of the double-breasted metallic floral jacket styled with Christian Louboutin ‘Cyprien’ boots’ and David Yurman accessories.

Donald Glover: Go bold or go home. Leave it to Donald to positively command an orange power suit. This stylized Dolce & Gabbana Spring 2018 design was loud and proud in all the right ways—from the panther-esque printed shirt, to the monogrammed, embroidered badge with his initials on the jacket, and right down to the slipper shoes.

Daniel Kaluuya: I like that Daniel wore a traditional Ugandan kanzu to the red carpet, styling the formalwear with a burgundy Burberry Soho blazer, Christian Louboutin loafers, and David Yurman accessories.

2018 Grammy Awards Menswear Roundup

The men brought their fashion game to the 60th anniversary of the 2018 Grammy Awards on Sunday (January 28) in New York City.

Zayn Malik: Zayn was dressed to the nines in this mauve Richard James Spring 2018 suit. It was an unexpected hue that I loved on the singer, especially with his graphic twist on the white rose and his patterned socks.

John Legend:
The singer cut a handsome profile in this Burberry double-breasted tuxedo styled with Chopard cufflinks. I liked this sleek midnight-blue deviation from the standard black tux.

Neyo: The rapper was styling and profiling in a Grayscale suit that was boldly striking by virtue of its goldenrod, velvet jacket in which the white #TimesUp rose was the perfect counterpart.

Menswear Weekend Roundup

The weekend brought with it a number of menswear looks, from Paris to New York City, with many guys attending pre-Grammy events.

Timothée Chalamet: The actor was at the Paris premiere of ‘Call Me By Your Name’ on Friday (January 26), where he switched up the suit-and-tie look of late with this Berluti ensemble. I like how he effortlessly married the sleek leather blazer and cropped trousers with a white T-shirt for a casual flair.

Jared Leto: Before taking to the stage to perform at the MusiCares Person of the Year honouring Fleetwood Mac on Friday (January 26) in New York City, Jared was on the red carpet in this Helmut Lang Seen by Shayne Oliver Spring 2018 look—thus answering all our questions if it was indeed possible for him to wear something other than clashing colours, crazy prints, and floor-dragging pants. This pristine all-white number is his best look in quite some time.

Shawn Mendes: At the GRAMMY Salute to Industry Icons Honoring Jay-Z on Saturday (January 27) in New York City, Shawn wore a sleek Givenchy Spring 2018 black suit that I loved all the more because he kept the gold lip-printed shirting underneath for some tongue-in-cheek pizzazz.

Lakeith Stanfield In Ermenegildo Zegna Couture – ‘Sorry To Bother You’ and ‘Come Sunday’ Sundance Film Festival Premiere

Lakeith Stanfield pulled double duty at the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah,, attending the ‘Sorry To Bother You’ premiere on Saturday (January 20) before the ‘Come Sunday’ premiere on Sunday (January 21).

‘Sorry To Bother You’ Premiere: With a head-to-toe Ermenegildo Zegna Couture look, Lakeith brought a distinct urban edge to snowy Park City with this burnt-orange, notch-lapel suit with matching jogger trousers from the Spring 2018 runway collection. A printed knit top, black cap, and black Tiziano sneakers followed the way of the joggers to complete the sportier mood.

‘Come Sunday’ Premiere: Speaking of, the athleisure trend was alive and well in this Ermenegildo Zegna Couture gray wool knit top with orange trim detail styled with matching gray wool jogger pants and the same black Tiziano sneakers. Some may say that Lakeith looked as if he was heading to the gym rather than to a premiere, and I would agree, although I still liked the stylistic ease of the look.

2018 SAG Awards Menswear Red Carpet Roundup

Many of the fellows at the 2018 SAG Awards weren’t content to just wear the standard black tux, making for quite the scene-stealing list of looks on Sunday (January 21) in LA.

Noah Schnapp: The young ‘Stranger Things’ star continued to win my affection with a lesson in all that is dapper in his custom-made velvet tuxedo by Stella McCartney paired with Jésù-SégunLondon slipper-style shoes, a Brackish bowtie, and Mrs Bow Tie pocket square. What a charmer.

Sterling K. Brown:
The ‘This Is Us’ star won the best actor award, and his look was equally stellar in this Giorgio Armani tuxedo styled with a Chopard timepiece and cufflinks. This was a lesson in the appeal of classic style with a modern twist thanks to the shades and the slim-line, slightly cropped proportions.

Dacre Montgomery:
I liked this Giorgio Armani ensemble for its unorthodox twist on the traditional tux in the chocolate-brown hue and exaggerated shawl label. Wearing his dress shirt unbuttoned at the top added a rebellious flavour that actually echoed his ‘Stranger Things’ character quite well. Montblanc cufflinks completed the look.
