‘Disclosure Day’ Paris Press Conference

Circling back to the Disclosure Day Paris press conference, which took place between the photocall and the premiere on Tuesday, where Colman Domingo, Josh O’Connor and Emily Blunt were in attendance.

Easygoing Elegance

I’m so used to seeing Colman Domingo in sharp tailoring that this more relaxed look was refreshing. I love how the actor stepped away from his usual formal red-carpet formula without losing any of the personality that makes his style so appealing. The rich tobacco and olive tones worked beautifully together, and against his skin.

A Literary Dior Moment

When in Paris, Josh O’Connor opted for a Dior T-shirt reading “Le Tour Du Monde En 80 Jours” (“Around the World in 80 Days”), a reference to Jules Verne’s classic adventure novel. On many actors, a literary slogan tee might feel like a novelty, but there is something about Josh’s quietly intellectual persona that makes it feel entirely believable. Styled with white jeans and a brown leather Dior Médaillon belt, the look felt perfectly suited to the occasion.

Pieces That Never Quite Connected

Emily Blunt’s Victoria Beckham look reminded me a little of Suki Waterhouse’s recent Variety event ensemble in that it felt pieced together rather than fully resolved. I understand that this was a press conference and not a premiere, so I wasn’t expecting high glamour, but the satin camisole-style top and asymmetrical skirt never quite found a common language. Individually, there are elements worth appreciating, particularly the earrings and the nude pumps, but together the look felt disjointed. For me, this was one of the weaker entries from an otherwise strong Disclosure Day press tour.
