Jennifer Lopez In Zuhair Murad – 2013 Human Rights Campaign National Dinner

Jennifer Lopez In Zuhair Murad - 2013 Human Rights Campaign National Dinner

Jennifer Lopez received the Ally for Equality Award during the 2013 Human Rights Campaign National Dinner held at the Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C. on Saturday evening for her commitment to lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender equality.

The singer/actress turned to her favourite designer Zuhair Murad for the occasion, selecting a Fall 2013 Couture deep burgundy velvet gown featuring sheer silk panels embellished with beaded vine-like embroidery.

Jennifer styled her sexy Fall 2013 Couture gown with a Swarovski deep-red crystal ‘Kiosque’ clutch, Neil Lane diamond stud earrings and a Neil Lane ruby ring.

A low centre-parted ponytail, smoky eyes and a nude lip completed her look.

This is a sensational look for JLo. It’s sexy without trying too hard, risqué without being trashy. It may sound strange considering her 44 years, but it also feels very grown up for JLo, who at times dresses inappropriately for her age.

That is one awesome dress. Me likes!

    Same old, same old.
Not a bad look, but it’s just so J.Lo.

  5. Sleepless in Chicago October 7, 2013 at 12:40 #

Borderline tacky but works for her. She is in her comfort zone here. No surprises.

      +1 with the hair, too!

  6. Iris October 7, 2013 at 12:44 #

I fear for the seams of that skirt!

    • julyol1972 October 7, 2013 at 18:20 #

IKR? She needed to go up a size for the thigh area, and tailor the top. Because right now, those seams are hanging on by a sneeze and a pray!

Yes, although I really like this whole look, it’s stretched across her hips so tightly, causing ripples and creases in the fabric, which is really a crime against couture. I think she has a great body, love her curves, not knocking it for one second. I just really think it should have been tailored correctly for her body.

  7. Yeliz October 7, 2013 at 12:49 #

Not really a fan of the gown, but she does look good this time.

  8. Dean October 7, 2013 at 12:50 #

She looks pretty good. Typical J.Lo, and I’m not a big fan of the vines, they look like veins. But, it is more grown up for her, I think.

don’t like the dress, but she looks good

  10. H October 7, 2013 at 13:40 #

    So stunning!

  11. EmmaWoodhouse October 7, 2013 at 13:44 #

I think it’s tacky, suitable only for a Disney villainess. Too much sheer and creeping vines and velvet.

  12. dee October 7, 2013 at 13:46 #

    I think she looks great.

    • admmgz October 7, 2013 at 17:36 #

      +1

  13. Christine October 7, 2013 at 13:49 #

Wow, she looks good. Fits her body like a glove.

  14. AnderBoBo October 7, 2013 at 13:50 #

I was actually at this event and she looked stunning in person, it wasn’t until I saw these photos that I realized the dress was burgundy as it read black. I was happy to see her looking much less “obviously” sexy and more sophisticated.

    • Pam October 7, 2013 at 19:19 #

I think this dress is overtly sexy. And ugly. And while I know she does a lot for the LGBT community, perhaps they should wait for her to stop performing for oppressive world leaders before they give her a humanitarian award.

  15. Pedro October 7, 2013 at 14:09 #

    J.Lo looks amazing!

  16. Rebecca Z October 7, 2013 at 15:14 #

I think this is a really ugly dress–the velvet and vine thing is trashy and this dress is just all about showing off her booty. I don’t expect her to be demure, but I am so tired of this look from her.

  17. shap_half October 7, 2013 at 16:20 #

I’m not sure about the hair, but to me, this is one of her best looks ever.

  18. Nat39 October 7, 2013 at 18:26 #

A tad tight through the hips but I think she looks spectacular. I like the seductive lines the panels create on her figure.

  19. Prudence October 8, 2013 at 03:41 #

Oh JLO, is this really what you wear to a damn human rights dinner? Had this been the grammys I would have been like jumping up and down but this is sooo inappropriate to me.

  20. amy October 8, 2013 at 15:49 #

too tight. Also this a human rights dinner , so the outfit is just too much for this occasion. Trying too hard Jlo!
