Selena Gomez In Versace – Front Row @ Versace Spring 2014

Selena Gomez In Versace - Front Row @ Versace Spring 2014

No one should be surprised that Selena Gomez was the front-row guest for Versace’s Spring 2014 show, which was presented during Milan Fashion Week on Friday evening.

Selena has worn Versace and Atelier Versace on several occasions, using the brands inherent sex appeal to help her transition from Disney child star to sexy young actress.

Donatella wasted no time getting her number one fan kitted out in a Versace Spring 2014 frock, as Selena wore Look 9 to the event before it had even taken to the runway.

Her black bondage-styled dress with a full raffia flare skirt was styled with black patent leather pointy-toe Versace pumps with a spike sliver heel, a Versace ring and earrings.

I love the dress. She really is becoming a great ambassador for Versace, but I’m not a fan of the makeup as her face appears a few shades lighter than her rest of her body.

The dress is great, the make-up is downright awful.

Bad. Really bad. This dress would have been soooo great on Diane Kruger.

IMO, she should stop wearing Versace. It has only worked once for her (VMA’s) and it’s not really her brand.

I agree, I do not understand the marriage of Selena and Versace. She is way too cherubic to pull off the sensuality of the brand.

agree. Selena in Versace is fine but never major, she need to let others ladies (much more adapted) wear it. I can’t believe how many great dresses have been wasted on her.

Lol, can’t take her seriously in this outfit, dark makeup — and pumps. Maybe with better shoes/cut-out booties, I might have bought this. But as it is, looks like a tweener Halloween costume, Goth Skater.

    • Nat39 September 22, 2013 at 19:26 #

Agree. Nothing is working – the dress looks more like a costume on her, the pumps are dull (some edgy sandals/cut-out booties is a good idea) and the makeup is tragic. She looks like a “goth skater” indeed.

      Ha! Goth Skater is perfect.

People are being harsh when it comes to Selena’s new grown up style. I think she looks great in all her Versace looks and makes a great ambassdor for the brand.

That being said, I am not a fan of the make up or hair in this look. She could do much better. The dress, however, looks spectacular on her.

I could get on board with the dress, but the make up is horrid.

There is something not right about the dress on Selena with the makeup just making it worse. The dress is amazing and the model looks great.

  7. Yeliz September 22, 2013 at 14:38 #

I like the dress on her, the shoes are OK, but the makeup is very bad.

I am not generally a fan of Selena in Versace. In my opinion she most often wreaks of trying too hard- too hard to be sexy, older than she is and so high fashion. But I really like this dress- the full skirt takes this dress into an appropriate realm of sexy, but flirty and youthful for me. But, all that improvement is blanched by the horrendous makeup. Yikes

    • KatieKate September 22, 2013 at 22:55 #

      Perfectly stated!

agree she’s becoming a great ambassador for the brand….btw it seems like selena will replace miley for the december issue after pics of her and anna resurfaced.

The dress is not that great on her, plus her makeup looks like she was going for Corpse Bride.

I have to confess, I miss classy Selena. In her mid teens she was so elegant and statuesque, and I really admired her style. I loved the gray Reem Acra she wore, and that pink ruffled dress. Lately I’ve been getting, unfortunately, a trashy vibe. That’s what I sense here. The skirt is beautiful but waist up I couldn’t be less impressed.

I think she should have saved this outfit for Halloween, or at least that horrendous makeup.

  13. Dhppy September 22, 2013 at 22:51 #

I had singled this dress out in my Milan Fashion Week perusing and thought it would be great for January Jones, Zoe Saldana or Blake Lively. I’m not quite buying it on Gomez.

Strong eyes, or strong lips, not both at the same time. Because she didnt follow that rule, she looks like a character in a gothic movie.
