Like Natalie Portman and Diane Kruger, Nicole Richie worked black-and-white to her advantage, when she attended the 2013 Elton John AIDS Foundation Oscars party, hosted on Sunday night in West Hollywood.
The starlet and designer took the plunge in a Roberto Cavalli gown.
I have to say it is nice to see a Cavalli number on the red carpet that isn’t peppered with paillettes, sparkly studs and over-the-top panache.
This minimalistic little number was just sexy enough to be dangerous, with that V-neck and those black racing stripes than ran across the shoulder and down the side.
Nicole accessorized with a demure necklace and a brilliant candy-apple-red House of Harlow 1960 ‘Marley’ clutch.
Her long, wavy bob and a nude lippie completed this mod look.

She looks nice but the neckline is distracting
I love the clutch and her lob, but not the trashy plunging gown.
This doesn’t look like Cavalli at all. I don’t like the plunging neckline.
since when did she grow boobs?
Two babies. Not a fan of this dress–too much info in the neckline (chestline?) and the drop waist design with the bunching weighs her down.
I wasn’t referring to her breasts as two babies, but rather offering that as the reason for why she is less flat-chested than before–like Kate Hudson.
I love it from head to toe. The plunging neckline doesn’t make her look tacky, she looks great, I love this dress the drapery is beautiful!
That was my exact thought, that it’s really nice to see a Cavalli that stays aways from the prints and sparkly stuff. I absolutel love Nicole Richie, and for me she looks perfect!! Classy yet sexy.
Don’t like the gown or hair.
Trashy not sexy.
Not a good look. She looks from head to toe a mess.
Tackiness aside, she’s far too small to wear a plunging neckline and drop waist together, both of which tend to make the legs look proportionally short.
The hair looks overprocessed. In any case, this latest color job is not working for me.
She looks really good!
She looks great! This is the first timeI’ve liked what Nicole wears in a red carpet in ages. Love the hair colour and length!
Love this!
I love the styling of this look a lot! Her makeup is absolutely perfect. I really like the dress but I do wish the plunge wasn’t quite as deep.
