Elle Fanning joined Eddie Redmayne at the 28th Santa Barbara International Film Festival’s Virtuoso Award Ceremony held at the Arlington Theatre in Santa Barbara, California yesterday.
The teen star wore a Rochas Spring 2013 white brocade belted dress which featured slanted pockets.
Ripping the runway look, Elle also donned the white leather boxing boots but opted out of wearing the sunnies and silk headband.
Many of you went on record to say that Elle has the most undesirable footwear collection to hit the red carpet, so I’m sure you will agree that she’s worn much worse than these leather lace-up boots.
I wanna say I dislike them on principle, but I think they keep the look interesting.
White pumps or those Prada platforms she loves so much would’ve been too predictable.

The dress is adorable, the boots work and keep things interesting on the runway but on 14y.o. Elle coming across tacky and try-hard – a playful youthful sandal would’ve worked better for her.
Her choice in footwear is always bad. Co-signed.

There have been a lot of white dresses today! I do really like this dress on Elle–it’s age appropriate and doesn’t overwhelm her–but the boots were the wrong choice for her. Very costumey. Her shoes are always questionable.

As someone who loved boots at her age, I love them with this dress. On someone older, they would look costumey, but she can pull it off. I would have loved to have owned those boots as a teen.

The dress is fab, the shoes are fug. I think the black and white Chanel booties worn by Diane Kruger and Alexa Chung would have been much better.
