Amy Adams played it cool on the red carpet last night for the 2013 Critics’ Choice Movie Awards at Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, California.
This best supporting actress nominee for ‘The Master’ experimented with draping in a Vionnet gown.
The asymmetrical white top transitioned to a regal blue flowing skirt with a modest knee-high side slit.
Yes, the look was an unstructured one that stood out among the other more formal and glittery red-carpet statements of the evening. But, that’s why this moment of effortless sophistication took on such a refreshing vibe.
Jimmy Choo peep-toe pumps and Stephen Webster sparkle completed the ensemble.
Jessica wore her pretty auburn hair with a simple part down the middle and loose waves. The pop of a bold burgundy or red pout would have been nice to see, though, instead of a nude lip.

This is beautiful. I agree about the lipstick.
Love those mermaid waves!
I agree about the lipstick, but she is still one of my best dressed of the night. I love the simplicity of this look, she looks gorgeous.
“Jessica”?
This is the first time I have being wowed by Amy Adams! Amazing!!!
Love the look! She’s not try hard!
A very nice look, subtle yet punchy. The colors look great on her. I only wish the transition between the top and the skirt was done a bit differently- maybe more loose.
Love it, simple, effortless. Just perfect.

love love love this. so fresh & modern. just beautiful.
but yes red lip would have been preferable.
still … this is my favorite look of the new year so far.
Amy is a teeny tiny little thing, but that ruffle gives her a tummy. I do love the top of this dress on her, though
I don’t like this from the waist down.
I really like the dress and I think you make a very good point about her lipstick – her makeup is a little drab. With all the contenders this week, I am not sure this would make my BDOTW list, unless the list exceeded 10.
I’m not a fan of the shoes. Strappy sandals would’ve been preferred. From the ankles up she looks gorgeous. Her hair is amazing, major envy here. I do like her makeup with the nude lips but a red pout certainly wouldn’t hurt anyone.
Beautiful! I love how natural her hair looks. Color on the lips would have been preferred.
I love Amy, but I don’t like this look at all. It’s too casual, for one thing. I don’t like the top–lopsided, too revealing–or the skirt, which is messy. Her style is likewise too relaxed.
I just LOVE it when she styles her hair like this, it makes her look even more beautiful than she already is.
But I’m not a fan of the dress. Besides, it gives me a deja vu feeling. I think she’s worn something similar to this before.
I appreciate the different vibe but I’m not fanatical about this. It feels a tad sloppy.

She’s having a good year, fashion-wise. She used to be put-together but boring. It doesn’t seem like she’s changed her style much but almost every look from her this season has been noteworthy.
love – she looks great!!
