Eliza Doolittle In Julien Macdonald – Grey Goose Winter Ball

I was pleasantly surprised to see a very glamorous Eliza Doolittle take to the red carpet for the Grey Goose Winter Ball, held at the Battersea Power station in London on Saturday evening.

Known for her love of high-top sneakers, crop tops and shorts, she stunned wearing a Julien MacDonald Fall 2012 gown.

Her knit beaded dress with fringe details was lightly bedazzled with silver sequin details.

Opting for a fresh-face look with hardly any makeup, the singer added gold hoop earrings, a gold chunky bracelet, a gold cocktail ring and a silver Jimmy Choo sparkling ‘Tube’ clutch.

Mixing metals aside, this has to be one of my favourite red carpet looks from Eliza.

A top knot completed her look.

Not bad even with the sections of skin showing.

I think she pulled it off.

This looks darling. I just hope her bashful pose is her being coy rather than uncomfortable.

    The dress is everything!

Shame about the awful hair and makeup.

She looks great but very uncomfortable in that picture.

I am NOT supposed to like this, but here I am, a little enchanted.

This is what I don’t like:

The messy hair (even though topknots are her thing)
    The mixing metals

But the gown looks better on her than the runway.

On paper and even on the model I hate it but on seeing on Eliza it look I’m surprised that I quite like this. I think the clean face and non flashy pose help too.

I’m going to be in the minority, but that much skin showing is always risque and trashy to me. It’s a shame, because if it had not been so revealing than I would loved the delicate beading. But is what it is, and it’s reminding me of Rihanna’s Jean Paul Gaultier from the 2011 Grammys. It’s a major no from me.
    Also, her hair looks messy.

I really like it. Aside from the hair i wouldn’t change anything.
