There was a time when we associated Elle Fanning with colours within the nude or beige family, but last night at the ‘Ginger and Rosa’ premiere during the New York Film Festival she gave us something different.
Wearing a beautiful vintage maxi dress, the floral print signals the start of the fall season.
This is certainly refreshing as so many celebs are clamouring to get their hands on the latest Spring 2013 collections.
The teen star styled her maxi dress with gold metallic Marni wedges, subtle wavy locks and minimal makeup for a fresh-faced look.

BDOTW contender for me (:
Me too.
I think it’s a bit mature for her, but I like the colours.
The dress itself is really pretty, but on Elle it ages her a lot. Plus, I don’t like the shoes.
Agree word for word.
Personally I don’t associate her much with nude/beige/neutral colors–that’s more of Dakota, who is kind of stuck in a rut. Elle experiments with her style, and I like to see that, but often–as in this case, she picks pieces that overwhelm. This dress looks like something Olivia Wilde would pull out when she was trying to irritate us, or Meryl would wear when she was–well, just being Meryl. It is too long, too baggy, and ages too old for a young, fresh-faced girl like Elle.
This is SO too old for this child–and overwhelming. There’s a lot between this and nude, nude, nude.
I think it’s a gorgeous dress and she is a beautiful young lady but I can’t help but think it is a little mature for her.
+1 for every comment
I really, really like this! She is having fun with fashion and seems really comfortable and confident! The pussybow i totally adorable and the styling is great. Love Elle!
The dress is so pretty but it’s so not age appropriate.. she is so young-way this mature dress?
To me, Elle is a big style risk-taker, which is great for a girl her age, but more than half of her outfits end up looking like she’s trying too hard. I understand she likes to go for that old school, lived-in, blowing-the-dust-off-the-vintage-dress kind of vibe, but this dress is just not working for me. Ditch the sleeves, shorten the hemline to knee length, and then we’ll talk.
Gorgeous!
I think the dress is ugly. It is too busy and the shoes are ugly too.
Pretty dress, but it doesn’t suit her.
