The actress can be a tad inconsistent, but I love this Carven Fall 2012 look she wore today.
A lightweight black lamb suede peplum top featuring a white collar, short sleeves and cutout details at front was paired with the same tailored blue satin shorts we saw on the runway.
Nude Brian Atwood ‘Maniac’ pumps, a coral lip colour and glossy, wavy tresses completed her look.

This is a great look – everything including the hair is perfect.
I personally think anything BUT nude would’ve made it too heavy for such a summery vibe. So for me, the nude pumps work.
I love that JeCha is going out of her comfort zone here. We never would’ve expected something vaguely hipster on Jessica Chastain. I love the look too, except the collar.
Adorable ensemble, works great on Jessica, not guite liking the nude pumps here – black/darker blue shoes would ‘support’ her darker colour outfit better. But I like it overall.

This is the second look EVER that I’ve loved on Jessica. The first one was her Alexander McQueen Oscar gown. Maybe it’s the black color that I’m loving on her so much but I hate her in the nude colors that wash her out.

I like this too, and for once I even like the nude shoes as I think they give her length. If she had worn a darker shoe she would have been shortened and attention would have been drawn away from the outfit, particularly as her skin is so pale.

I adore this look. It was a stunnign outfit on the runway, I pictured it on Leighton, but since she isn’t doing so great on the red carpet nowadays I’m not too sad. I am a sucker for laser cutouts, shorts, tailoring and a generally clean look, so this si just perfection. I don’t like the shoes, pink woudl have inevitably worked better for me, but they don’t ruin the look either. Her hair is also great.

Not sure if the top is lined–if it is, then I think it’s really cute and I like it! I’m not a fan of the shorts, I wish they were a skirt, but still, Jessica looks very cute here. I wish she’d chosen a more inspiring shoe, but the pumps are OK.

Yay, Jessica! Yay! This is polished, and dare I say… “kicky”? And the best use of a nude shoe in a long time. Frankly, I’d expect it from SJP, but I’m glad to see it on Chastain.
