Roland Mouret Fall 2012

Roland Mouret’s Fall 2012 collection was inspired by the ‘big freeze’ – the winter that chilled Paris to the core in 1947.

Cue ladylike layers featuring fur jackets and boleros over sharply tailored pieces, wool vests over turtlenecks, oversized coats, long gilets with oversized hand-warming pockets, and chic separates.

Forties-style dresses with signature origami-style folds and exposed zippers were the highlight of the presentation. I especially loved the dresses with reindeer motifs dancing over them.

The silhouettes were a bit looser compared to previous seasons, with a few looks featuring peplums, which continue to be a Fall trend.

I loved the fresh waft of soft yellow and blue pastels within this fall collection amongst the seafoam green, black, slate grey and dove grey.

During this presentation, Roland Mouret debuted his new shoe line for Fall 2012. We saw six separate styles ranging from pumps to knee-high boots. Each shoe has an “R” shape formed by the heel and curve of the platform sole, when viewed from the side.

As always, Mr Mouret presented a seductive yet elegant collection which takes women from day to night. The looks are perfect for photocalls, TV appearances and premieres.

His number one fan, Amy Adams, will no doubt be one of the first celebs to snap up this collection.

Who I See Wearing This Collection: Katy Perry, Victoria Beckham, Amy Adams, Amber Heard, Carey Mulligan, Jessica Biel, Viola Davis, Naomi Watts, Cat Deeley, Charlize Theron, Emma Stone, Eva Mendes and Scarlett Johansson
