Stéphane Rolland Spring 2012 Couture

Stéphane Rolland can always be relied upon to serve up sophisticated looks with explosive effects. Hence Lady Gaga is a big fan.

For Spring 2012 the couturier was inspired by the work of kinetic artist Michel Deverne.

On a colour palette of black, white, red and lime green, silhouettes were kept simple with highly sculptural and exaggerated flounces.

He continues to push the envelope with architectural details and daring cut-outs whilst sticking to his signature dramatic trains and metallic gold accents.

Yasmin Le Bon closed the show wearing a blood-red gown.

She was escorted up the runway by two handsome men, not because the designer was worried the supermodel would get mobbed, but to ensure the gown was artfully displayed along the full length of the runway.

The gown, which weighed over 100 lbs, looked heavy, but the supermodel didn’t let it show.

Favourites: White and red cap-sleeve mermaid gown and black gown with gold accents
