I will give Dianna Agron credit for doing what so many other actresses didn’t do at the 2012 Golden Globe Awards: take a risk.
She donned a fiery red Giles Deacon Spring 2012 gown with laser-cut swan cutouts across the bodice and ruffled tiers cascading to the floor.
The mumsy hair doesn’t quite work with the gown, plus I think the look would’ve been better served by someone with more height like Erin O’Connor.
Matte red lips and diamond jewels completed her look.
Do you think her risk paid off?

I desperately wanted to love it, but it reminded me a bit of a Chinese paper lantern. Pretty makeup.
I love her gown and I love how she styled it. Her hair was up in an updo because it would look too casual if she left if down. It actually looks better on her than on the model despite the model’s height.
+1 for sure!! She is gorgeous and this gown looks awesome on her, definitely a risk that paid off
diana’s attitude sort of makes up for what she lacks in height and hair. i think she looks stunning
I’m definitely glad she took the risk, it’s a stunning dress. She struck a right balance of her usual sweetness with a bit of edge.
Definitely agree!
No, she is not pulling it off. This is a clear case of being too vanilla for a gown like this. She def.lacks stature and a fiery presence and hairstyle in order to make this work.
I sure did. I think she’s wearing it well despite the lack of height. And she looks confident and comfortable.
I love the way her choice have been going of late, and this is a real highlight. I guess she is coming into her own – both in confidence and style.
YES! She looked amazing.
It’s clear from that amateur make up and hair that she’s not the right woman for this dress. The dress is wearing her. She’s not interesting enough for it. It’s a good attempt I admit I just wish it had been worn by someon with a personality and style.
I didn’t really like this look. Somehow I felt like the top half and the bottom half were two different gowns. But again, she was the one of the few who stepped out of the box and wore something unexpected.
Yes, I’d much rather see this than a safe dress. She looks lovely.
I love the top of the dress, not so much the bottom. I do, however, love risk takers.
Top 3 for me… It not only was an interesting choice, as it was super sexy and appropriate.

Just ok for me.
loved the dress the moment I saw it on the catwalk ( the whole collection is pretty wonderful)…I appreciate seeing it on the RC, and do like it on her, I’d just rather have seen it on someone else; a brunette…like Erin O’Connor as suggested.
I think you may have a point about the height. If Charlize had worn this, it would be all anyone talked about.
I absolutely love this dress! I reckon she pulled it off but do agree with the hair comment though, it doesn’t quite go with the dress.
I love her!!! Makeup, Hair, Jewels… Everything perfect for me!! And, yes, indeed, dress seems Chinese paper latern.. but she wear the dress with such elegance…
Way too much going on for me and I don’t like all the little cut-outs. Love the fiery red color though!
I really really like it!
I think it so paid off, she looks amazing
