Menswear Red Carpet Roundup

Here’s a look at some of the summery style the fellas have been sporting on the red carpet this week.

Odell Beckham Jr.: Some might feel like there’s a lot going on with the graphic print Versace Spring 2019 look, leg tattoos, necklaces and blonde hair, black beard combo, but I found myself enjoying this look and all its many elements at the 2018 ESPYS. You have to have plenty of swagger to pull this off, which thankfully Odell possesses in spades.

Dominic Cooper: On the other end of the spectrum we have Dominic Cooper looking very dapper in his pale blue dunhill London suit at the ‘Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again’ London premiere. This is one of the finest summer menswear looks to date. I particular loved the cheeky red and white polka dot socks for a unexpected twist.

2018 ESPYS

There were many more red carpet looks to be had at the 2018 ESPYS on Wednesday (July 18) in Los Angeles, California, joining the likes of Alison Brie, Ciara and Eiza Gonzalez.

Sloane Stephens: If you thought designers had run out of ways to reinvent the blazer, look no further than Solane’s flame-red Alexander McQueen piece, which looks like it has a built in waistcoat. While the shoes were a bit of a mismatch for me, I do love the overall ease at how the tennis ace presented this uber cool look.

Ibtihaj Muhammad: The Olympic fencer looked breath-taking in a floral Jovani gown. The train, flowers, and that smile make this such a charming look.

Ciara In Maticevski – 2018 ESPYS

Aaron Rodgers and Danica Patrick weren’t the only couple on the red carpet for the 2018 ESPYS on Wednesday (July 18) in Los Angeles, California, Russell Wilson and Ciara were too.

Ever since her jaunt in London, I have developed a new found love for Ciara’s style – not that I didn’t like it before – but the love has found a deeper level.

On this occasion she hit all my sweet spots:

Colour, style and a sculptural elegance; wearing an attention-commanding saffron-yellow dress from Maticevski’s Fall 2018 collection.

The designer’s signature architectural tailoring really stands-out more than the colour, especially the curved, tucked detail which artfully cascades down to work a trailing hem.

I love how she selected sparkling Louboutins which added a certain chicness to the look.

Chadwick Boseman In Louis Vuitton – 2018 ESPYS

‘Black Panther’ star Chadwick Boseman attended the 2018 ESPYS on Wednesday (July 18) in Los Angeles, California.

We all know he is the star that menswear designers are clamoring to dress right now, so I’m not surprised that he is the first to wear a look from Virgil Abloh’s debut collection for Louis Vuitton.

This might be an unpopular opinion, but I wasn’t that crazy about this look.

Why? I didn’t like the off-grey alligator harness.

Kudos to him for keeping things interesting, but it feels really awkward.

Had he removed the harness and gone with the runway sneakers, I would’ve been on board with this 100%.

Kate Beckinsale In Alberta Ferretti – 2018 ESPYS

Kate Beckinsale skipped the red carpet at the 2018 ESPYS on Wednesday (July 18) in Los Angeles, California, and went straight to presenting duties.

The British actress tend to stick to column silhouettes, but she opted for something totally different when she donned this intricately beaded custom one-shoulder gown with bodysuit inset from Alberta Ferretti.

I love Kate’s style, but was underwhelmed by this look.

Simply because it has been done to death and doesn’t suit her style at all. Plus I couldn’t get on board with the white eye makeup.

I love my Kate prim, with a dash of glamour and sprinkle of sex appeal.

Alison Brie In Vivienne Westwood Couture – 2018 ESPYS

Alison Brie dazzled on the red carpet at the 2018 ESPYS on Wednesday (July 18) in Los Angeles, California.

It’s been mentioned that when it comes to Alison’s style; that you’re unable to define it.

To me that’s a great thing, to keep us guessing, and to see her continually evolve.

On this occasion it was a return to glamour in Vivienne Westwood Couture, which is a world away from what we expect from the corset-loving brand.

This pale rose nude sequin column halter gown was infinitely more sensual with it plunging neckline and side slits.

I’m glad accessories were kept to a bare minimum with just Sophia Webster ‘Rosalind Gem’ sandals, as anything else would’ve been overly fussy.
