Menswear Red Carpet Roundup

Menswear Red Carpet Roundup

It’s time to check in on those men that have been out and about at the 2018 Toronto International Film Festival over the past few days.

Robert Pattinson: At the ‘High Life’ premiere, Robert wore a Dior Men by Kim Jones Spring 2019 three-piece suit that had quite the dandy demeanor, especially with the floral dress shirt.

Kit Harington: Looking quite formal, Kit was polished in a Givenchy tuxedo at the ‘The Death and Life of John F. Donovan’ premiere.

Mahershala Ali: Sometimes we roll our eyes at sunglasses on the red carpet, but on this occasion, his Jimmy Choo shades really added some fun, quirky edge to this Ermenegildo Zegna Couture cropped suit at the ‘Green Book’ premiere. That teal pocket square did, too.

Christoph Waltz

It’s been about a week since we last had a full-on menswear roundup. So, no better time than now to see what the guys have been wearing lately on the red carpet.

Tye Sheridan: Joining Hannah Gross at ‘The Mountain’ premiere during the 2018 Venice Film Festival on Thursday (August 30) it Italy, the young actor was ever so dapper in a classic Saint Laurent by Anthony Vaccarello tuxedo. I always appreciate a sharply fitting suit.

Christoph Waltz: Attending the Jury photocall on Wednesday (August 29) during the 2018 Venice Film Festival, Christoph let down his formal guard just a bit with this Prada suit. A sense of haphazard elegance was achieved with the tie-less, unbuttoned shirt.

Ryan Gosling: Looking sleekly refined in a Gucci ensemble, Ryan joined the star-studded red carpet of the ‘First Man’ Venice Film Festival premiere and opening ceremony. You can’t argue with the crisp formality of this white dinner jacket.

Claire Foy In Chanel & Ryan Gosling In Gucci – ‘First Man’ Venice Film Festival Photocall

Claire Foy In Chanel - 'First Man' Venice Film Festival Photocall

Ryan Gosling and Claire Foy attended ‘First Man’ photocall during the 2018 Venice Film Festival at Sala Casino today (August 29) in Italy.

Ryan Gosling: Black, grey and navy are all extremely common in menswear, so thankfully Ryan likes to stand out a little. The contrasting print shirt really elevates the overall flair of his cinnamon Gucci suit, as does his green shoes.

Claire Foy: My immediate reaction to this Chanel Resort 2019 look was so-so until I realized it was fully beaded. This knowledge instantly took this to a whole new level for me because, as always, the devil is in the detail.

Menswear Red Carpet Roundup

There were many dapper gentlemen on the red carpet cutting sharp figures in sleek suits.

Ryan Gosling: The actor joined Claire Foy on Wednesday (April 25) for the ‘First Man’ presentation at CinemaCon 2018. I was struck by the different references in the look with the soft red patterned shirt and dusty blue shoes playing off the pinstripes in the suit for a cohesive but still dynamic finish.

Tom Hiddleston: Lightening things up, the actor wore a Ralph Lauren Purple Label Hadley silk linen suit for an appearance on ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’ on Tuesday (April 24) to promote ‘Avengers: Infinity War.’ The light mauve jacket and trousers with pale blue shirt evokes spring with the clean lines enhancing the subtle shades. For a fresh look, I would have preferred gray shoes rather than brown boots.

Channing Tatum: Like the other gents, he elected to go without a tie when he attended ‘The Big Picture’ presentation on Tuesday (April 24) at CinemaCon 2018. Clad in Rag & Bone, he looked cool and confident. I like the idea of the different collar shape, but think he could have gotten away with something more substantial.

SXSW Film Festival Weekend Menswear Roundup

Ryan Gosling and Michael Fassbender joined co-stars Rooney Mara and Berenice Marlohe for the ‘Song To Song’ premiere during the 2017 SXSW Film Festival on Friday (March 10) in Austin, Texas.

Ryan Gosling: As stated previously, this film festival is more of a relaxed affair, but that didn’t persuade Ryan from stepping out of his Gucci-clad comfort-zone. He may have gone sans tie, but there was still a very formal feel about this red carpet outing, which I am not begrudging at all.

Michael Fassbender: The Irish actor nailed his look by seamlessly marrying informality and refinement; topped off with Tom Ford shades.
