Jenna Ortega Trades Gothic Style for Colour at ‘Klara and the Sun’ Photocall
Jenna Ortega returned to the spotlight for the Klara and the Sun photocall at The Corinthia Hotel in London this afternoon, accompanied by two talking points: the return of her eyebrows and an appearance by her canine co-star, Sig.

But the other refreshing return was seeing Jenna move away from gothic dressing. Between the Beetlejuice Beetlejuice and Wednesday press tours, the actress has spent much of her time in dark, gothic-inspired looks, which I loved at the time. But it’s nice to see something different.
And while black still occupies a significant portion of this Calvin Klein Spring 2027 colour-block ensemble, the change in direction couldn’t be clearer.
The white bodice, yellow sleeves and black maxi skirt have a graphic simplicity that recalls the colour-blocking associated with 1960s Mod fashion. There is also something distinctly sporty about the top, which adds an unexpected element to the look.
What I particularly like is that the outfit doesn’t feel like a complete departure from Jenna’s style. The black skirt maintains a connection to her darker wardrobe, while the yellow introduces a welcome burst of colour.

And considering how closely her wardrobe has been associated with her screen characters, I’m enjoying seeing Jenna in something that doesn’t immediately reference one of them.
The look also reflects Veronica Leoni’s approach to the collection, which revisited Calvin Klein’s American sportswear heritage through colour-blocked baseball shirts, elongated skirts and a palette punctuated by bright yellow. It’s an interesting combination of athletic references and more formal dressing, and one that works particularly well on Jenna.
Her softly styled ponytail complements the 1960s Mod influence.
