Charlotte Gainsbourg Wore Saint Laurent To ‘L’Affaire Marie-Claire’ Premiere
Charlotte Gainsbourg attended the Cannes Film Festival premiere of her upcoming film, L’Affaire Marie-Claire, on Monday evening wearing Saint Laurent.

It was at this point that I realised we really didn’t see enough of this side of the Saint Laurent Spring 2025 collection. So many celebrities were fixated on the oversized suiting that dominated the red carpet, leaving these brocade broad-shouldered jackets, fluttery diaphanous blouses, and tiered lace-accented skirts somewhat overlooked.
But thinking about it, with Chloë Sevigny previously championing the look, and now Charlotte following suit, perhaps this section of the collection best serves women with that effortless indie coolness who can make something intentionally eclectic feel entirely natural.
On someone else, the mix of metallic brocade, saffron lace, cobalt tiers, and lace-trimmed hems could feel a bit overwhelming or highly editorial. But Charlotte has that rare ability to wear Saint Laurent in a way that never feels styled within an inch of its life. There is always an ease to how she carries this slightly offbeat combination. The rumpled hair, minimal jewellery, and almost indifferent attitude towards the red carpet – she didn’t even stop to pose for photos – are exactly what make the whole thing feel effortless and instinctive.
Sheer tights and Saint Laurent Lutetia sandals completed her look.
