Celebrities in Givenchy by Sarah Burton for the 2026 Oscars
Sarah Burton dressed the same two celebrities she dressed for the 2025 Oscars for the 2026 ceremony: Elle Fanning and Timothée Chalamet. Both arrived in white Givenchy looks.
Classic Fanning
Elle Fanning was doing exactly what we expect from her in a Givenchy bustier corseted tulle gown embroidered with satin-stitch wisteria. I do not think anyone is mad at it. It is a familiar formula, one we would all have selected for her, but if it is not broken, why fix it? Elle is absolutely in her element here, pun not intended, and I would take this over anything experimental.
Elle’s Princess moments at the Oscars or the Cannes Film Festival? I am always signed up for that. Cartier jewels completed her look.

White Suit, Little Impact
Timothée Chalamet has been incredibly underwhelming this awards season, and this Givenchy suit is failing to move me, especially from the waist down, even if the top half is not too bad. Awards season has been running for three months now, and the fit of his trousers has bothered me at almost every outing. My hope that he would end this run with a bang on Oscar night was not realised.
