The 31st annual Critics’ Choice Awards welcomed us into 2026 with a stunning red-carpet spectacle and a serious dose of celebrity fashion. This year, the most talked-about timepieces weren’t chosen for shock value, but for how precisely they worked with each celebrity’s look. Here are the five watches that stood out for being just the right level of classy, and who wore them for this special occasion. 

1. Jeff Goldblum’s Blancpain Villeret Ultraplate

You’ve had the pleasure of seeing Jeff Goldblum lean into his natural eccentricity in his recent role as the Wizard in Wicked: For Good. Perhaps even more so as Zeus in Netflix’s Chaos. For the red carpet, however, he ditched his theatrical style, opting instead for a beautifully restrained monochrome palette. 

Goldblum wore a Blancpain Villeret Ultraplate with a black alligator leather strap, white dial, and 40 mm stainless steel case. This elegant watch was the perfect match for his off-white tuxedo, which he styled with a black bow tie and his signature thick-rimmed glasses.

Brian Tyree Henry may have lost out to Stephen Graham for the Best Actor in a Limited Series or Movie Made for Television award. However, the Dope Thief star surely topped the charts for having the most expensive, glitzy wristwatch. His Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch Professional will set you back around $48,000, but it’s easy to see why. This watch packs a punch, with a deep black dial set against the watchmaker’s glowing Sedna gold. Paired with his Giogio Armani tux, it was a match made in heaven, or in space! This is the official watch NASA’s astronauts wear while on missions, ever since first landing on the moon in 1969.

3. Michael B. Jordan’s Vintage Audemars Piguet

Not one to disappoint when it comes to dressing the part, Michael B. Jordan looked suitably suave on the red carpet. He wore a custom Louis Vuitton tux in deep maroon and a jacquard tie in the same shade. 

However, it was his watch that stole the show: a vintage Audemars Piguet from the 1980s. Housed in a 18-karat yellow gold case, its unique dodecagon shape and two-tone gold bracelet made this timepiece stand out as a particularly thoughtful fashion choice. 

4. Stellan Skarsgård’s Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra Shades

Stellan Skarsgård, in attendance for his supporting role in Sentimental Value, brought his usual air of refinement mixed with classic Swedish simplicity. His double-breasted tux jacket was closed over a fresh white shirt, buttons open at the neck, giving him a somewhat more relaxed vibe. 

This was an impressive look to pull off, given he had $19,500 worth of Omega on his wrist; Seamaster Aqua Terra Shades, to be exact. His gorgeous lagoon-green timepiece featured a 34 mm 18-karat gold case, offering a fantastic pop of color to his ensemble.
