Chappell Roan Wore Efrain Nava & Manny Robertson To The 2025 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony
Chappell Roan attended the 2025 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony and, rather than simply dressing up for the moment, she built a story into her look. With Cyndi Lauper being inducted this year — and Chappell presenting her — she arrived in an ensemble that spoke directly to Lauper’s legacy while still feeling unmistakably her own.

She wore a custom shredded newspaper skirt and matching sculptural headpiece designed by Efrain Nava and Manny Robertson, paired with a vintage 1940s diamanté rhinestone showgirl top she sourced from eBay. The look feels thoughtful rather than costumed as it was a direct nod to Lauper’s 1986 True Colors music video and the vinyl album imagery, where newsprint, texture, and theatrical headpieces created a kind of playful surrealism.

The accessories continued the narrative: eBay sourced Christian Louboutin open-toe gold heels, a vintage opalite beaded necklace, a vintage gold belt with metal rhinestones, a Mikal-Jon BAYANIHAN bangle bracelet, and a vintage rhinestone evening belt from the 1950s layered at the waist. Nothing felt random — everything had a specific memory, era, or reference stitched into it.

The beauty direction made the reference even clearer: bold washes of colour across the eyes, a red lip that leaned toward pop icon imagery while still speaking to her own style, and her signature curls left free, lively and slightly mischievous, the way Lauper’s aesthetic always carried a thread of rebellion.
There’s also something fitting about Chappell being the one to pay homage. Her performance persona carries that same brand of sincerity-meets-spectacle. A look like this could easily feel cheesy in the wrong hands, but here it reads as personal, researched, and celebratory — a fan honouring an icon while standing firmly in her own era.
