Oscar Isaac Wore ERL Artisanal To The ‘Frankenstein’ LA Premiere

Oscar Isaac joined his co-stars Jacob Elordi and Mia Goth for the LA premiere of Netflix’s Frankenstein at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures on Monday, and I’ve been stalking his stylist’s Instagram page ever since to find out who designed this suit.

It’s a custom ERL Artisanal tuxedo that showcases the label’s reinterpretation of old-school elegance through a modern lens. The exaggerated wide-leg trousers and sculpted shoulders instantly recall 1930s Hollywood tailoring, but with a distinct ERL twist — a deliberate looseness and play with proportion that keeps the look feeling fresh.

What makes it work, for me, is Isaac’s ease. He wears it with quiet confidence, letting the silhouette do all the talking.

What truly sold the look to me were the behind-the-scenes pictures showing how the high-waisted cut elongates his frame, while the cummerbund adds structure and balance to the relaxed trousers. I just wish he’d posed like this on the red carpet.

I’m sure the volume will be a sticking point. The trousers, in particular, might feel overwhelming to those who prefer a slimmer, more traditional tuxedo fit, and the slight pooling at the hem may read as excessive to classicists. But that’s exactly the point — ERL isn’t chasing convention.

Overall, Isaac’s mix of ruggedness and refinement gives the look a gravitas that makes even exaggerated proportions feel effortlessly cool.
