Teyana Taylor Wore Schiaparelli To The Desert Diamonds ‘A Diamond is Forever’ Celebration

On Friday, ‘A Diamond is Forever’ unveiled its latest natural diamond campaign, Desert Diamonds, with an immersive evening at ARTECHOUSE in New York City, celebrating the timeless beauty and individuality of natural diamonds.

Teyana Taylor was impossible to miss wearing a Schiaparelli Fall 2024 coat, but as with most Schiaparelli pieces, all isn’t what it seems.

The coat isn’t crafted from real animal skin — it’s a trompe-l’œil design meant to mimic crocodile or alligator texture, but actually made from embossed leather. The result captures Daniel Roseberry’s surrealist approach perfectly, playing with perception, exaggeration, and material illusion.

And when it comes to exaggeration, Teyana is no stranger. We’ve seen it throughout her One Battle After Another press tour and her Met Gala appearances, but this time she reined it in. Instead of the matching runway boots, she styled the piece with black thigh-high boots, tights, and a black turtleneck—letting the coat remain the hero piece.

I think had this been the VMAs or another high-energy music red carpet, the runway boots would have made an appearance—but there’s a time and place for everything.

Teyana completed her look with the Desert Diamonds Grandview Klein necklace and bracelet, featuring natural diamonds sourced from Namibia, though all eyes inevitably are on Teyana’s Schiaparelli moment and those perfectly tinted shades.
