Tessa Thompson Wore Willy Chavarria To Harper’s Bazaar x Bvlgari 2025 Icons Issue Celebration
Does anyone have a spoon? Because I’m ready to eat my humble pie, and I’ll do it gladly.

I wasn’t convinced the Tessa Thompson and Karla Welch partnership was working after those first four TIFF looks. But then came Harper’s BAZAAR and Bvlgari’s ICONS celebration in New York, and suddenly, I was speechless.
Tessa arrived in Willy Chavarria Spring-Summer 2026, a collection unveiled to a select few during New York Fashion Week, and this look had everything I’d been waiting for. From the front, it was all serenity—clean lines, a high neckline, and long sleeves in a blazing shade of red that radiated power. Paired with that wide-brimmed hat, the silhouette carried a statuesque calm with razor-sharp precision.

And the back was a revelation: completely open, with a cascading cape that shifted the narrative from minimalist restraint to unbridled sensuality. The tonal red sandals anchored the statement.

This look thrived on dualities—covered yet exposed, minimalist yet theatrical, modern yet timeless. For me, it marked the moment where the Tessa x Karla union finally clicked, and in spectacular fashion.
Stylist: Karla Welch.
