Austin Butler Wore Givenchy To The ‘Caught Stealing’ New York Premiere

Austin Butler joined his co-star Zoë Kravitz on the red carpet for the Caught Stealing New York premiere last night, and while she was serving archival Saint Laurent, he was busy making his own bold statement.

As we all know Austin is now working with celebrity stylist Ryan Hastings, but Austin’s Paris screening Saint Laurent outing didn’t exactly suggest a big shift in direction. But this premiere marked a change of pace: a leather Givenchy by Sarah Burton suit.

Leather tailoring is a tricky beast. The cut has to be impeccable, and the wearer needs the right swagger to carry it off. Austin went all in, even skipping a shirt, and while I’m sure he was sweltering under that jacket, he sold it with just the right mix of confidence and nonchalance.

The only stumble? The footwear. The dress shoes felt far too polished for the mood he was going for. Swap them out for a pair of Saint Laurent boots and the look would’ve leaned fully into the cool, rock-tinged vibe already established by his Oliver Peoples shades.

Still, leather on the red carpet is no easy feat, and Austin made it look a lot smoother than most.
