Alessandra Ambrosio Makes Her India Couture Week Debut In Manish Malhotra

Alessandra Ambrosio added another dazzling chapter to her runway repertoire with her debut at India Couture Week, walking for Manish Malhotra in a format as reimagined as the clothes themselves. The designer traded in the typical runway setup for an immersive “couture party” experience—no front rows, no stiff seating plans, just music, flowers, legacy, and some seriously high-wattage glamour. And who better to help anchor this vision than Alessandra, who brought star power, statuesque elegance, and two very memorable looks to the evening.

Her first look, from Malhotra’s new Inaya collection, was a strikingly modern take on the saree.

The ensemble featured a crystal-embellished, ombré two-piece set with a sculpted bralette top and a draped sash that echoed the classic palla. And as if that wasn’t already sparkling enough, the Inaya Lady crystal diamond necklace added even more shimmer — because subtlety clearly wasn’t on the guest list.

For her second act, she leaned into full-blown bridal opulence in a pearl and crystal-encrusted cocktail lehenga. The A-line skirt shimmered under the lights, while the strapless bustier blouse—with its plunging neckline and peplum waist—added to the drama. The icy tones of the ensemble were beautifully contrasted with a ruby-and-diamond choker, earrings, and a delicate maang teeka, bringing a regal, almost cinematic finish. The slicked-back bun and soft nude makeup kept the overall styling effortless.

Manish Malhotra described the night as deeply personal, and it showed—from the setup to the fashion, everything felt intimate yet extravagant. With Alessandra as the muse, it was couture storytelling told through structure, and a whole lot of sparkle.
